Tribes have the right under common law to make their own laws. tribes can write their own penal codes and tribal courts can give sentences of up to 7 years imprisonment, up to 20 lashes or an unlimited fine. Tribal courts also deal with most rural cases relating to divorce, alimony, child custody, child support and other family law issues.

Criminal law in Saranidia is based on the Qur'an. There is a seperate juvenile justice system for under 16s.
