The Al Saranidi Army is traceable to when Emir Saladin II was halfway through consolidating his territory he gave his most loyal commanders(including members of the old Ayyubid Army and members of allied Al-Saranidi noble families) permanent commands for the the Army of the Emirate, appointing them Amīds of areas like Kallipolis, Benghazi and the Nile Frontier and appointing some as Beys(Generals).
