It is said that Elixia was forged with iron and blood. The Elian King Memminar founded the city of Elia in 932 BCE, beginning the Memminarian-Dynasty of Kings, mostly a period of settlement for the seafaring Elian peoples. Memminar led his people through initially a period of peace and prosperity, and was beloved by the Elians as their divine and benevolent ruler. But Memminar had died in 900 BCE, securing his rightful place in history, and becoming a role model for centuries to come.
The Kingdom of Elia : 932 - 740 BCE
The 8 Kings of Elia
Memminar "The Great" : 932 - 900 BCE
Founder of the Kingdom of Elia, renowned for his kindness, and willingness to balance out the people, and the crown. A former Elian Seafaring Ship Commander, Memminar was a proven warrior, both at sea, and in land, and due to his strength, wiseness, and god-like poise, was chosen to be the King of the New Kingdom of Elia.
Kilotas I “The Steady” : 900 - 878 BCE
Continued construction on the foundation left by Memminar, mostly known for his generosity, and steadiness in rule, a life under Kilotas was a good one.
Heiron I "The Corrupted" : 878 - 869 BCE
Despite the relatively stable rule of the past 54 years, Heiron began his rule by building statues in his name, all across Elia these enormous tributes to him were in construction, upping tax rates throughout the realm. He had used his power to justify the over expenditure of royal luxuries towards royal balls, parties, and other forms of tribute to himself. Whilst drinking a cup of wine at one of his many royal balls, Heiron collapsed and after a seemingly prolonged fit, died after being rushed to his royal doctors. Many of his statues remain, though many of them defaced, due to his unpopularity with the people. His death was suspected to be foul play.
Palamon I “The Peacebringer” : 869 - 810 BCE
Though claimed by some (mainly those in favor of Heiron) to be a usurper, Palamon's rule proved to be completely the opposite of such a claim. After fighting for the crown in the War of The Palamons sole goal was to restore stability
Mentor I “The Rich” : 810 - 790 BCE
Pyris I “The Honorable” : 790 - 772 BCE
Though initially considered unfit to rule as a child, due to his physical hinderinces, Pyris managed to overcome the obstacles w
Palamon II “The Builder”
Mentor II “The Persecutor” : 750- 740 BCE
In 742 BCE, the Tyrant King Mentor II, began the persecution of a newfound religious and political entity, the Elixian Council, which had posed a threat to his rule since his coronation. The Elixian Council was built upon by their own non-pagan beliefs, and believed their own separate set of laws, The Elixian Code.
In 740 BCE, rather than succumb to the punishment of the villainous King Mentor, the Elixians took up arms, led by their Commanding General, Virion Cane. Though much of his early life is undocumented, it is known that Virion was a native to the Elia, and known to be an extraordinary warrior and leader among the Elian Civil Guard. He proved his bravery and leadership whilst protecting the city state from attacking tribes of barbarian Sicalians, Bamburgians & Galtans, eventually making his way to the top of the ranks. A firm believer in the Elixian Code, Virion was ready to heed the call when the Elixian Council had begun recruiting their armies.
This civil war, though perilous at it's start for the Elixians, saw much bloodshed on both sides, and lead to the death of nearly half of the male Elian population, would eventually lead to the overthrow of King Mentor II, and the establishment of the Imperial State of Elixia.
The Imperial State of Elixia, The Early Elixian Empire : 740 - 402 BCE
After the Elian Civil War of 740 BCE, Virion Cane was chosen to be the Grand Lord, for this new Imperial State of Elixia, Elixia derived from the Elixian Council, thought to be of at the time a differentiating factor between old and new. After the war, Virion disbanded what was left of his tribal army for a short period of time, in order to rebuild what had been lost in the Civil War. After this period of rebuilding, in 735 BCE, Virion took no time to recall the armies of the Elixian tribes, back into service. His first goal was to expand his new state into the inner regions of the island, for the Elixians had been residing in the coastal region of Elia, in their large city state, for the past 200 years. The nearest tribes, the Sicalians, the Bamburgians, and the Galtans, all submitted their city states with barely a single drop of blood, all assimilating into Elixia, bringing upon the beginning of The Elixian Empire. However, down in the southern regions, a unified confederation of tribes and city states alike, the Vallorians, had emerged.
For the past two centuries, the people of Elixia and the people of Valloria, had encountered each other several times on the battlefield, testing their might on the borders of both the Kingdom of Elia, and the Republic of Valloria. The Vallorians lived on the very southern coastal edge of the island, and were rumored to be stronger than all the other tribes of Elia, combined, for that's how they stood, combined.
