House of Chaudoir
After the death of Mathilda II in 1723 without issue, the succession passed to her second cousin once removed Phillip of Chaudoir. Phillip's position in the Vervillian nobility lead to the Succession Act of 1724 which forfeit any claims to the Vervillian throne that Phillip or any of his descendants may hold or obtain. The reign of the Chaudoir Kings is commonly referred to as the "Phillipean era" of Blayk, being marked by large scale social change in Blayk with the beginning of the Agricultural Revolution and the following Industrial Revolution as well as the nation's first steps towards constitutionalism.

House of Sarbeliard
With the untimely death of Prince Louis-Phillipe of Blayk, the heir apparent to the Blaykish throne in 1787, wishing to avoid a repeat of the events of the Tyrnican War of Succession some five years earlier, Phillip III officially appointed Gilbert, the Count of Sarbeliard as the new crown prince. Gilbert was of Chaudoir blood through his paternal Grandmother, Marie de Chaudoir, Duchess of Khovaar and sister of Phillip II. Phillip III's goal of avoiding a messy succession came to fruition two years later with Gilbert's coronation occurring a few days after his passing. During Gilbert's reign Blayk went through a period of mass social upheaval with the Blaykish Civil War and the declaration of the Blaykish Republic causing his court to flee to Tyrnica where they set up a government-in-exile in Stierstandt.
