The Cabinet of Radictistan constitutes the de facto executive branch of the Radictistani government, consisting of government ministers each acting as head of a government ministry. These are divided into Crown Ministers responsible to the Radictistani crown, currently endowed on Grand Duke Xenocimedes Radicti, and Government Ministers responsible to the Radictistani parliament. The constitutional head of the cabinet is Prime Minister Zahir Radicleb.

Appointment

Ministers of the Radictistani cabinet are appointed in two ways. Government Ministers are appointed by the Prime Minister from either house of Parliament. Because the Prime Minister is by definition the leader of the majority party, these nominations are not required to be confirmed by parliament. The Prime Minister can make any choice from Parliament he wishes without oversight.

Crown Ministers are appointed by the Grand Duke and subject to confirmation by the House of Delegates. The Grand Duke is free to choose any individual he pleases whether they are Members of Parliament, Peers, or neither.

The present cabinet contains seven Government and four Crown Ministers plus the Prime Minister and a Cabinet Secretary.

Functioning

Meetings of the full cabinet are usually chaired by the Prime Minister. By convention, the Grand Duke may be invited to attend a meeting if important issues concerning his areas of responsibility are on the agenda. In addition, the Crown-appointed and Government-appointed sections of the cabinet will sometimes meet on their own with the Grand Duke or Prime Minister presiding, but may only discuss issues relating to the ministries represented at that particular conference.

The cabinet adheres to a weak form of the doctrine of individual ministerial responsibility. Only Government Ministers are required to publicly support all decisions of His Royal Highness's Government. As Crown Ministers are not part of the Government, being responsible to the Crown instead, they are not held to that standard of behavior. In the event that the government loses the confidence of Parliament all Government Ministers must resign. Crown Ministers, but not Government Ministers, can be removed from office by a vote of the House of Delegates.

Each ministry, including all Crown Ministries, are overseen by a Standing Committee of the House of Delegates. The senior civil servant of each department is titled as Permanent Secretary.
