The Amrelian Army dates back to the unification of the Amrelian states after the civil war under the Kingdom in 1654. The Army's command is exercised within the National Defense Headquarters building in Whiteford and is composed of the Regular Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard. It consists of the 51st Airborne Brigade, Amrelia's Rapid Reaction Force, which is the most strategically mobile unit of the Army and ready to respond to crises across the region. The Army further consists of the 1st Armored Division, the 6th and 10th Infantry Divisions, and the 14th Division which is a blend of lighter infantry, providing a more strategic choice with a range of capabilities. | |||

The Armed Forces of the Amrelian Federative Republic (AAF) are the official military forces responsible for the defense of Amrelia. They also promote Amrelia's wider interests, support international peacekeeping efforts and provide humanitarian aid.
HISTORY
Today, the Amrelian Armed Forces consist of the Army, Amrelia's land warfare branch; the Navy, a blue-water navy with a fleet of 113 commissioned ships, together with the Marine Corps, a highly specialized amphibious light infantry force; the Air Force, a technologically sophisticated air force with a diverse operational fleet consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary aircraft; and the Coast Guard, which operates as coastal defense, search and rescue, and maritime law enforcement.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces is the four-member Federal Directory, who forms military policy with the High Council of National Defense.
