The foreign relations of Radictistan are guided primarily by the doctrine of nonalignment.
Administration
The conduct of Radictistan's foreign relations is the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The position of Minister of Foreign Affairs is currently held by Jyson Reed, Baron Burtnam. The Foreign Ministry is a Crown Ministry, meaning that the Minister is appointed by and held responsible to Grand Duke Xenocimedes Radicti rather than to the House of Delegates, although the appointment must first be confirmed by that body. Radictistani diplomatic missions in foreign countries are staffed by members of the Royal Radictistan Diplomatic Service.
Nonalignment
The fundamental doctrine guiding Radictistani foreign policy is that of nonalignment. Radictistan has not entered into formal diplomatic alliances with other states and has remained aloof from major international controversies. On a few occasions Radictistan has intervened in foreign crises with humanitarian or limited military assistance, always in the pursuit of foreign policy goals rather than ideological mandates.
Economic policy
Radictistani foreign policymakers have placed a high priority on the creation and maintenance of trade relations with the outside world. In particular Radictistan has sought reliable foreign supplies of petroleum products, the importation of which is required to meet Radictistan's growing energy needs. The Radictistani government has maintained a policy of opposing trade sanctions. This policy of decoupling economic links from political disputes has resulted in significant trade with countries whose foreign and domestic policies are opposed by both the Radictistani government and public opinion. Radictistan advocates freedom of the seas and opposes efforts by other nations to stop and board foreign ships in international waters.
The Radictistani government established the Royal Import-Export Bank as Radictistan's official export credit agency to facilitate international transactions.
