Unity of Effort was a Makedon-class battleship of the Navy of the Syaran Republic from 1931 to 1935. Unity of Effort was the third ship of the Makedon-class to launch and was assigned to the Sundering Sea Fleet as the flagship shortly after she entered service. Following the outbreak of the Siduri War she served extensively in the Sundering Sea Campaign, sinking six Common Axis warships while suffering minor damage in return. In the leadup to Operation Scylla, the intended Inner Sphere invasion of Andria, she was reassigned to command the Forward Cluster as part of the Syaran National Fleet under Senior Captain Milen Zdravko Ziakov.
Unity of Effort played a major role throughout the Battle of the Sabri Sea in late November 1935. In the evening of 22 November the Unity struck the the Cacertian cruiser Antelmo Cisco, and was in exchange hit by Cacertian shellfire though suffered only minor damage. The next day the Unity alongside the rest of Forward Cluster inflicted serious damage on the South Fleet before disengaging. In the morning of 25 November following a chaotic and stormy night the Syaran battleship found itself facing the Amika Carpio, the flagship of the Cacertian fleet and engaged one another while closing the distance until both ships were firing at near point blank range.
Unity of Effort proved unable to match the Cacertian battleship and suffered severe damage during the fight before suffering a catastrophic explosion in the main magazine compartment. The explosion tore the ship in two and she sank in less than a minute. The explosion was large enough to be seen by most of the ships involved in the battle and her destruction effectively signaled the rest of the Syaran fleet to retreat. Out of a crew of 1,435, just six survivors were picked up by the Cacertians. Her wreckage was discovered in June 1992 by oceanographer Dr. Iwao Harada of Akashi’s Hirakawa University.
