Commercial

Ahuriri Aerospace first ventures into commercial aviation began with the R300 of propeller driver passenger aircraft in 1943. The was quickly followed the the larger R400 and R410 aircraft in 1946 and 1951 respectively. Poor commercial sales of the R410 resulted in Ahuriri Aircraft pulling out of the commercial aircraft market to focus solely on military aircraft development and production in 1954.

Ahuriri Aerospace eventually re-entered the civilian market in 1968 following major success with their R700 and R800 military aircraft developments with the R500. A narrow-body twinjet focused on thin and short routes, it would become and continues to be a major commercial success, with three distinct generations of aircraft having sold X000 aircraft globally. This would be followed by the first Ahuriri Aerospace wide-body aircraft the R510 in 1971. The first twinjet of its type, focused on shorter, high demand routes. It would also be a significant success and be developed into the larger and longer-ranged R520 and the first Ahuriri Aerospace quadjet the R530, with the R520 ending up as the backbone of Ahuriri Aerospaces widebody commercial success since its introduction in 1991 until today.

Since the 1989 Vertical Training Solution program, all in-production Ahuriri Aerospace aircraft feature similar cockpit systems, based on the newly-developed glass cockpit of the R500 families latest aircraft at the time.
