Claudia Donovan (born April 30th, 1988) is the current Minister of Science and Engineering and former Chair of the Free Democratic Youth in the United Kingdom of Malgrave.
Early life and career
Claudia Donovan was born in Epping on the 21st of May 1988, the second child of Harold Donovan, a professor of mechanical engineering and Rachel Donovan, a member of one of Epping's Regional Social Solidarity Councils. At an early age Claudia's intellectual talents were noted by her teachers, and so she was rapidly promoted through the educational system eventually learning at Leiden Academy a few years ahead of schedule.
Following this, Claudia finished her education on schedule and enrolled as a graduate at the Niels Bohr Academy in Pakosc where she majored in Electrical Engineering. It was here where Claudia first gained national attention, as she took part in the national stage of the Conference for the Masters of Tomorrow showcasing elements which would later be used as the foundation for the MalTec Ascension, a factor which contributed to her being hired by MalTec and put to work in their R&D division.
MalTec
At first Claudia was just a small part of a wider-research team focused on developing viable technology for the consumer division of MalTec, with her groups primary focus on being developing advancements for the next generation of consumer mobile handset. Claudia quickly gained a reputation for being a skilled problem solver and incredibly hard worker, attributes that meant she was quickly tossed around the company in order to solve issues ran into by differing R&D projects inside MalTec. After solving these issues Claudia was rapidly promoted and soon came to head her own research team developing what would eventually become known as the MalTec Ascension, however her rapid promotion within the company and the embarrassment caused by having an "outsider" fix problems soon meant that she found herself resented within the company. In 2009 she resigned from MalTec and accepted an offer from the PUP to become the parties official scientific advisor.
Minister of Science and Engineering
Although Claudia was widely respected in the scientific community it was still regarded as a mistake by Rachel Berry to choose such an inexperienced politician to lead one of the most important Ministries in government and many in the media establishment predicated that she would crash and burn in months and might be the cause of the governments demise. Claudia bucked expectations by passing several popular reforms including the expansion of the research colony and the re-introduction of independent accountants to audit troublesome accounts for fraud and corruption.
Controversies
Claudia Donovan is known to construct small mechanical robots and hijack computers at whim either for fun or to highlight her next agenda. It is a tactic that has offended and entertained both national and foreign guests
