The Ambra-class was a class of four experimental destroyers built by the Cacertian Empire leading up to the Siduri War. Designed by Eugenia Davion, chief naval architect for the Royal Shipbuilders of Cacerta, the Ambra-class was entirely devoted to testing technology that would later be intended as the foundation for a new class of destroyer. The legacy of the Ambras was continued with the development and later production of the resoundingly successful Vera-class.

In comparison to previous destroyer designs, the Ambras featured enclosed dual-gun turrets meant to protect the guns and increase the survivability of their corresponding gun crews. Although the exact design of these turrets was not utilized in later classes, an improved version was instead developed.

The most unique component of the four Ambra-class ships were their advanced turbines which generated approximately fifty percent more power than turbines in previous destroyers. These improved turbines allowed the ships to exceed their originally designed speed of 42 knots to an excess of 45 knots making them some of the fastest destroyers in Tyran. The experimental nature of these turbines, however, also meant that pushing the engines could cause severe damage to their machinery.

All four ships of the class saw service during the Siduri War, but their limited range and constant need for repair hampered the CRN’s capacity to take advantage of their speed leaving the Ambras almost exclusively on convoy and fleet escort duty. Only one ship of the class—HMS Marilena—was lost in combat during the Battle of the Sabri Sea. After the war, the remaining three ships were scrapped.
