The Commonwealth Navy ('''CSDF Navy''') is the naval warfare branch of the [[Commonwealth Self-Defense Forces]]. With an estimated 350,000 active personnel and a further 50,000 in reserves it is the second largest service branch in the Commonwealth military. It operates a fleet of 500+ warships including 200 major surface combatants, 62 patrol vessels, 32 submarines and 200 auxiliary & support vessels. The Navy also operates more than 800 fixed and non-fixed wing aircraft. The CSDF Navy is among the oldest service branches of the Commonwealth's military, having been establishment since the formation of the Commonwealth itself. The CSDF Navy maintains a sizable regional presence and is considered a blue-water navy with the ability to project force throughout the Myrian & Rohenan continents litoral regions, deploying expeditionary forces across both the Emporic & Anemoisic oceans and rapidly respond to crises across the world.

As a nation with one of  the largest Exclusive Economic Zones, the presence of a strong & superior navy has been one of the primary reasons why the CSDF Navy is given a near limitless funding to maintain its personnel and equipment. Aldia's proximity to the Myrian Canal means a large number of international maritime freight movement comes through the region and it is the responsibility of the CSDF Navy to ensure the waters in area are safe for vessels to travel through. Until recently, the last time the CSDF Navy operated an aircraft carrier was during the Third Voshan War. Since the end of the conflict and detente between Atmora & Aldia, Naval doctrine shifted dramatically with defense planners no longer seeing the need to maintain carriers in the absence of a looming existential threat to the Commonwealth. Attention was refocused to protecting the nations littoral zones rather than projecting force outwards. This however was changed with the development and commissioning of the Taifeng-class Landing Helicopter Dock for the CSDF Navy.

This however was changed with the reintroduction of aircraft carriers in the form of the Taifeng-class in the 1980s.

The CSDF Navy is capable of operating within the Myrian & Rohenan littoral zones as well as deploying surface & submarine combatants on the open Emporic & Anemoisic seas. It has a myriad of support vessels ranging from spy vessels, hydrography/science ships, minesweepers, transport ships for logistical purposes as well as ships dedicated to electronic warfare. The presence of the Taifeng-class aircraft carriers has allowed the CSDF Navy to greatly expand its operational range by utilizing carrier air wings. In spite of its blue-water capabilities, the primary objective of the CSDF Navy has been primarily to safeguard the nation's EEZ, conduct anti-piracy operations in the region and provide humanitarian aid whenever and wherever needed.

The Commonwealth Navy (CSDF Navy) is the naval warfare branch of the Commonwealth Self-Defense Forces. With an estimated 350,000 active personnel and a further 50,000 in reserves it is the second-largest service branch in the Commonwealth military. It operates 200 major surface combatants, 62 patrol vessels, 41 submarines and 186 auxiliary & support vessels. The Navy also operates more than 800 fixed and non-fixed wing aircraft. The CSDF Navy is among the oldest service branches of the Commonwealth's military, having been establishment since the formation of the Commonwealth itself. The CSDF Navy maintains a sizable regional presence and is considered a blue-water navy with the ability to project force throughout the Myria and Rohane litoral regions, deploying expeditionary forces across both the Emporic ocean and the Anemoisic Oceans and rapidly respond to crises across the world.

Capabilities

As a nation with one of the largest Exclusive Economic Zones, the presence of a strong & superior navy has been one of the primary reasons why the CSDF Navy is given near-limitless funding to maintain its personnel and equipment. Aldia's proximity to the Myrian Canal means a large number of international maritime freight movement comes through the region and it is the responsibility of the CSDF Navy to ensure the waters in the area are safe for vessels to travel through.

Equipment

All combat ships of the CSDF Navy are given the prefix CCS (Commonwealth Combat Ship) whereas unarmed ships are given CAS (Commonwealth of Aldia Ship) as a prefix.
