The Shturmovik ("Stormtrooper") was a major paramilitary organization under the Slavic Union Party that existed from 1941 until 2021 in the Slavic Union

It began as a small guard unit known as the Okhrana Zala ("Hall Security"), which was assembled by Nikifor Osipov after the death of Minister-President Avdei Sergeyev. The Okhrana Zala was meant to act as the personal guard of Osipov, made up of the most loyal men in the entire Slavic army. After Osipov came to power as the Vozhd in 1940 the Okhrana Zala was reformed into the Shturmovik.

The Shturmovik had a very diverse set of responsibilities, from putting down rebellions and acting as a secret police to acting as bodyguards to the Vozhd to serving as a special forces unit. For years being a member of the Shturmovik was seen as a great honor, as to be recruited you had to prove that not only were you completely and totally loyal to the Vozhd you had to prove that you were in great physical condition, however in it's later years it was overran with corruption and nepotism that watered down it's effectiveness.

Origins

On September 18, 1931 Nikifor Osipov, the Chief of the Staff of the First Slavic Republic, secretly assembled a group of the 23 army officers most loyal to him, the majority having served under him at one point or another. Chief among these was Nikola Milošević, who was the first to take the "Oath of Supreme Loyalty", and was named [Velikiymarshal]] of the newly formed Okhrana Zala, a secret group meant to act as Nikifor Osipov's personal security and to undermine the republican government in order to put Osipov in power.

History

After Nikifor Osipov officially named himself Vozhd of the Slavic Union in October 1940 the Okhrana Zala was reformed into the Shturmovik, meant to be even more intensely loyal. Nikola Milošević continued his role as Velkilymarshal with the newly formed organization, with massively expanded powers that allowed the Shturmovik to serve as the state secret police. In August 1942 he established the Okhotnik, inspired by the special forces Okhotnik that terrorized Parabocan soldiers during the Ledyanaya War, the Okhotnik were highly trained special forces units, and considered to be the deadliest soldiers in all of the Slavic Union.

Milošević resigned from his position in February 1943 to go to Kossmil to spread Osipovism, his second in command, the Verkhovmarshal Myron Matveyev succeeded him. Matveyev expanded the secret police aspect of the Shturmovik over his 31 years as Velkilymarshal, acting as a brutally efficient iron fist that put down any dissent in an era known as the "Silent Terror". Matveyev, the son of a poor Ledyanayan farmer, had made himself a kingmaker in Slavic politics and was often de facto more powerful than the Vozhd himself before being assassinated by one of his own agents on the direct orders of Vozhd Vasily Osipov.

The death of Matveyev lead to a prolonged period of decline for the Shturmovik, with the Velkilymarshalship of Vadim Bezrukov being one of it's worst periods, as from 1987 to 1998 the heavy gambling Bezrukov gave positions of power in the Shturmovik to whoever was willing to pay him enough money, watering down the prestige of the group.

In 2021 the August Revolution occurred, an event the Shturmovik was built to stop, but by this point the group had been consumed by corruption and nepotism, and the Shturmovik unit guarding the home of Vozhd Matvei Pavlov delivered Pavlov to a group of rioters in exchange for being allowed to escape unharmed. That same night Velikiymarshal Mitrofan Vinogradov burnt the Shturmovik Main Office to the ground and took his own life, countless documents recounting the actions of the highly secretive Shturmovik being destroyed in the fire.

Units and branches

The Shturmovik was divided up into multiple branches, with the headquarters for these branches being spread across the country to prevent one region gaining too much power and overseen by a Razdelmarshal

Shturmovik Main Office

The Shturmovik Main Office was the central command of the Shturmovik, located in the nations capital of Osipovgrad.

Taygopol

The Taygopol had existed for years as the Union Security Office but the creation of the Shturmovik saw it be absorbed into it as one of it's branches, the Taygopol saw itself turned turned into a secret police force, intelligence agency, and the backbone of the Shturmovik's power and influence.

Union Court Main Office

After a 1957 scandal were found to have massively abused their power Velkilymarshal Matveyev founded the Union Court Main Office (GUSS) to act as an internal legal system for the Shturmovik, placing them beyond the reach of civilian legal authority.

Personnel Office

The Personnel Office was responsible for the administration of personnel matters regarding all leaders and officers of the Shturmovik, specifically those matters regarding admission, promotion and dismissal, but also organisational matters, transfers, and training. It was responsible for processing recommendations for decorations.

Loyalty Office

The Shturmovik Loyalty Office was responsible for guaranteeing the complete and total loyalty of members of the Shturmovik

Protection Unit

The Protection Unit acted as the personal guards of high ranking individuals in the Slavic government, with the Elita Storozhit acting as the Vozhds own personal guard.

Shtormarmiya

The Shtormarmiya was the combat branch of the Shturmovik, entirely independent from the Slavic army

Okhotnik

The Okhotnik were the elite special forces of the Shturmovik, put through incredibly rigorous training.

Shtrafbat

The Shtrafbat were penal battalions made up of criminals, ranging from political prisoners to those who had been court martialed and regular prisoners. These battalions engaged in little actual combat and were primarily used as slave labor. Command of these units was primarily reserved for officers who had somehow lost the favor of their superiors but hadn't actually committed any crimes, and to be made a Shtrafmarshal was considered a humiliating black mark on an officers résumé.
