The Progressive Party is a centre-right Liberal Conservative political party in Arkiasis.
They are the largest centre-right political party in Arkiasis and the leading party in the current coalition government. The current leader (since 2004) and Arkiasis' Prime Minister (since January 2010) is Troy Brown. The Progressive Party is the result of a split of the former Progressive-Conservative Party and represents the moderate faction of the Conservative movement in Arkiasis.
Ideology
The Progressive Party is committed to fiscal free market policies, including tax cuts and relatively little government involvement in the economy. It does, however, support the continued existence of the Arkiasian welfare state. The party generally supports semi-privatization through state-funded private services and tougher law and order measures. The party policies include expanding free trade relations, lowering taxes, a balanced budget, and "responsible" government. The party distances itself from social issues and believes that they are a distraction from other issues.
