The 1990 Zouterhem Riots were a series of riots and civil disturbances that occured in parts of the Zouterhem metropolitan area in July and August 1990. Unrest began in North Zouterhem after a jury acquitted 2 officers of the National Police Service (NPS) charged with using exsessive force (Police Brutality) in the arrest and beating of Ron Emondt.
