Sailor on Tour is a popular daytime television show broadcast weekly on MBC Two. It is designed to increase awareness of the work being performed by institutions such as the Royal Navy, Territorial Defence Force and Regional Social Solidarity Councils.

History

Like many from Aurora, Choi Eun-young decided to forgo enlistment in the Territorial Defence Force by volunteering to serve in the Royal Navy. Eun-young's service ended up going past the typical two year period, as they remained an active member of the Royal Navy for a further five years rising to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant before requesting to be transferred to the reserve.

While taking a break from military service, Choi Eun-young noticed that a number of citizens were unaware of the responsibilities of those within the military and so started a small MalTube channel where she talked about her work in the Royal Navy. Eun-young's channel quickly grew in popularity and she started working more formally with the Royal Navy.

In 2020 Eun-youngs channel was selected to be broadcast on MBC Two where it has risen to become a popular daytime television show.

Sailor on Tour has seen a few guest appearances, with the most famous being Choi Iseul who appeared as part of a special episode in 2020 to promote Iseul can do it! Since then Choi Isuel has appeared on a few episodes, and the friendship between Choi Isuel and Choi Eun-young has become increasingly popular on local social media networks.

Synopsis

Sailor on Tour is filmed in a variety of locations across Malgrave, so each episode starts with Choi Eun-young giving a brief preview of the location of filming. Previous episodes have been centred around HMNV Smorzando, an Admah-class attack submarine and the work done by various members of the crew to ensure the success of anti-piracy and anti-slavery operations and TDF bases in Pakosc, including the work done in maintaining the current generation of armoured vehicles.

Eun-young often interviews a mixture of people during the course of an episode and presents then an opportunity to discuss key parts of their job and the role it plays in helping the Malgravean people. It also includes more interactive aspects, as Eun-young often gets involved in these jobs such as cleaning tanks, weapons testing and social solidarity exercises.
