The National Front, also commonly called the NF or the Blackboots (colloquially), is a currently defunct and relatively short-lived contemporary far right and ultranationalist electoral alliance and quasi-political party in Belhavia in the Galarian period, being active from early 1941 until mid-1945, when it was disbanded and criminalized following the Fall of Galarian.
At the time of its brief existence, it became the platform for a quasi-single-party state by coercively requiring the other, established pre-coup parties to join under its umbrella as a so-called 'electoral alliance'. Its members of the Senate were considered 'independents' but were anything but in actuality. The National Front membership were among the most loyal, handpicked, and hardline of Galarianists.
It was created in January 1941, at the swearing in of the new 75th Senate. The idea emerged from industrialist allies of Galarian such as Asher Reiss, who recommended a corporate-style governing political body be created, and the proposal was modified by Galarian's Foreign Minister and former Senator, Frank Posen, who suggested a mandatory electoral alliance approach.
In late 1943, Galarian criminalized and disbanded the Fascist Party of Belhavia, and the rank-and-file of the former Fascists were coercively absorbed by the National Front.
After the Fall of Galarian in the Stein Coup, the National Front was dissolved and criminalized. Some of its more low-key members joined the Far Right faction of the 1945 Provisa Convention and later the National Patriotic Union Party.
