The United Team of Besmenia (Besmenian: Gesamtbesmenische Mannschaft) was a combined team of athletes from East Besmenia and West Besmenia that competed in the 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1967 Olympic Games.
The United Team of Besmenia was created on the occasion of the 1957 Winter Olympics held in Melmingen, West Besmenia, after West Besmenian chancellor Lars Schreim proposed to the East Besmenian government that, as a result of the improvement of the Inner Besmenian relations in the 1950s, a joint team consisting of East Besmenian and West Besmenian athletes should perform in Melmingen. As a result of West Besmenia's development of a nuclear weapons program in 1960, the East Besmenian government and Olympic Committee announced that they would leave the United Team of Besmenia and return to competing independently in the Olympic Games. From 1960 to 1966, two Besmenian teams competed again.
As a result of the democratization in West Besmenia in 1966/1967 and the improvement of Inner Besmenian relations at that time, West Besmenian chancellor Horst Lommberg and East Besmenian Premier Johannes Schmidt agreed to re-establish the United Team of Besmenia, which competed at the 1967 Winter Olympic Games for the last time before the Besmenian reunification in September 1967.
