Yangchenia, officially the Dragon Empress's Domain of Yangchenia, is a small interplanetary country primarily located on two planets. It is an absolute monarchy and a theocracy, and is Lacia's only necrocracy. On Earth, it is bordered by Poi(Tibet), controlled by Eastasia, and Gesaria and Ramlekia to it's South. On Lacia, it is bordered by the Lethinian Colony of Saint Maria's Land to the west, and the Bealtian Colony of Msalka to the west. Yangchenia is the least populated country on Lacia, with a population estimated to be around 7.7 million people as of the 2020 census. On Earth, it is also sparsely populated, with it's lands home to only 34 million people, bordered by nations with hundreds of millions.
Despite being a small country, Yangchenia leads Lacia in the space race, with the country being one of the most advanced yet also very traditional. The nation dedicated 10% of it's annual budget to research, while a whopping 46% of the annual budget is allotted for Spirituality, as the nation is very religious, with the majority of the population adhering to the Yanginist Faith.
On Earth, Yangchenia occupies around 1,000,000 sqkm of land, mostly dominated by rugged mountains and hills, with large valleys and plateaus scattered all across the land. On Lacia, it occupies around 800,000 sqkm of land, and is mostly composed of mountainous terrain to the South, with the rest of the country being dominated by snowy tundra. Yangchan, Yangchenia's Lacian Capital, is the northernmost capital on Lacia, while the main capital is situated in the city of Yangchen.
The Guul-La Dynasty are the current rulers of Yangchenia, and have continuously maintained power for over 4000 years.
Etymology
It is widely accepted that the origins of the name "Yangchenia" stem back to 3000BC, during the reign of Yangchen Guul-La, the Empress of the Qiaxing Dynasty and most famously known for her central role in the Legend of Yangchen. After the death of her parents, Kaisheng and Lhotse, Yangchen emerged as the ruler of the kingdom, eventually renaming it to "Yangchenia" after her.
The name "Yangchen" itself in Tibetan means sacred, and when added to the suffix -ia meaning "land", then the name Yangchenia can be said to mean "Sacred Land".

Paleolithic
The first human species, Homo Erectus, arrived in the lands of Yangchenia around 1.8 million years ago, 400,000 years after they had first arrived in Gesaria. The oldest fossil discovered in Yangchenia of a human was discovered in the northern mountains, and dated back to this period. Homo Sapiens arrived in the lands of Yangchenia around 80,000 years ago, and largely lived a hunter gatherer lifestyle for around 70,000 years. Around 50,000 years ago, there was a notable shift on where ancient humans lived in Yangchenia, and early inhabitants of the region began to be classified into two - mountain dwellers and plain dwellers, based on where they lived. Yangchenia's population during this time is estimated to be around 7800 people.
