Viktoria Oberhaus secured the championship by matchday 14, five days before the season's conclusion. Münchert trailed by 13 points, which they could only achieve if they won all their remaining matches and Oberhaus lost all theirs. The final results were: a 1-0 win against FC Gronius II, during which Oberhaus surprisingly slipped against Trombar, but promotion was still virtually impossible. After losing to FC OFC B, Münchert's fate was sealed. They followed this with a 3-0 win against Neufort. However, the league was subsequently abandoned due to riots involving Münchert fans (OOC: I accidentally lost the standings). About the project: TSG 1846 Münchert is part of a new project by the person behind Lionsroar. It serves as a club in the reimagined series "Rise to Glory", where the team starts in the lowest official Lionsroarian league. Each season will be simulated to observe how the club evolves over the years. The experiment is expected to be very lengthy, and the outcome remains uncertain. Will TSG ever rise to the top again? The experiment begins in the year 2000, following the club's relegation to the lowest leagues by the LFA in 1999 due to scandals, investor failures, and various other issues.
The TSG 1846 Münchert, also known as the Blue-White of Münchert, fully named Teutonische Sportgemeinschaft zu Münchert des Jahres 1846 (Teutonic Sports Community to Münchert of the Year 1846) or just 1846 is an amateur football club based in the city of Münchert. The former Lionsroarian champion of 1912 and 1923, and cup winner in 1960, 1961, and 1986, is a storied club with a rich tradition in past history. With a massive fan base and more than 10,000 members in its football division, the club has a tragic history. Various scandals and mismanagement, culminating in the lost cup final of 1991—just before the fall of the democratic republic and the subsequent brief interim period without professional competitions—led the Lionsroarian Football Association to exclude TSG from competitions in 1999, enforcing relegation to the lowest Lionsroarian league in Münchert.
The Rich Past
TSG 1846 Münchert is a club with an incredible history. Founded in 1846 as the Genossensportsverband Münchert, it is one of the oldest clubs in Lionsroar and the entire Trica region, alongside the eastern clubs from Ulm. Competing in various princely individual competitions for many years, the club earned trophies early on and made a name for itself. Located in the heart of Lionsroar at King's Rock, in the third-largest city of Münchert on the island, the club enjoyed a period of success during its affiliation with the great western Lionsroarian kings.
When the first unified Royal Lionsroarian League was established in 1912, TSG was a founding member and won the championship in its debut season. To this day, the club’s active fanbase proudly displays the slogan "First Lionsroarian Champion" on their jerseys, though this often stirs tensions with the King's Team. The King's Team won the first title in the Democratic Lionsroarian Republic and later, in 2000, in the newly formed First Division. Objectively, the title from 1912 is not officially recognized by the LFA, as Lionsroar was not yet unified at the time and only western clubs participated.
Until its second and final championship win in 1923, the club consistently performed at a high level. However, during the period of anarchic transition, the club began to feel the effects of the political turmoil, and several western championships were canceled due to civil war. Despite the lack of titles during this era, TSG remained competitive.
In the later years of the war period, from 1940 onwards, the club struggled, and it was not until 1946 that a unified Lionsroarian league system was introduced to determine the national champion. This new structure brought expanded competition, with powerful eastern and northern clubs joining alongside established western giants like the King's Team and Legio Loewenburg, creating a more dynamic league.
A decline began in the 1950s as TSG struggled to maintain its performance, eventually relegating to the second division. With the modernization of Lionsroarian football, an investor revitalized the club, sparking a rapid yet short-lived return to the top division. This culminated in back-to-back cup victories in 1960 and 1961. However, internal disputes led to another relegation to the second division by the late 1960s. In 1975, the club fell into amateur football and only returned to the second division in 1985. Remarkably, TSG won the Lionsroarian Cup in 1986 as the only second-division team to do so.
The Downfall
By 1990, the club secured promotion to the first division, and in 1991, they reached another cup final, which was ultimately abandoned. In 1992, a military coup reinstated the monarchy under the seventh Rothmund dynasty, led by Valentin Augustin von Rothmund. This ushered in an interim period of eight years during which the new kingdom was consolidated, and professional football was paused.
The Lionsroarian Football Association (LFA) resumed operations in 1998 and began evaluating clubs. TSG was found to have multiple irregularities, including excessive investor interference, the rise of radical hooligans, match-fixing, referee bribery, and insufficient cooperation with authorities. These issues culminated in 115 charges before the Lionsroarian Sports Court. Consequently, on August 20, 1999, TSG was forcibly relegated to the lowest Lionsroarian leagues, pending compliance with LFA regulations, investor withdrawal, and other conditions. While the club's titles were reviewed, no grounds for revocation were identified.
Introduction to the "Rise to Glory"
The lowest league into which TSG 1846 Münchert has fallen is Division 13, the Münchert-Oberhaus Staffel D (named after the Oberhaus district in Münchert). It consists of 10 teams. This is followed by Division 12 and Division 11, each with 12 teams, the Münchert-West Staffel C and Münchert-West Staffel B. These include teams from the western part of the large city. 14 teams play at Level 10 in the Münchert Höchststaffel A, which is followed by the Stadtliga Münchert with 16 teams as the highest city league under the Münchert City Sports Association. After this, with 16 teams, it continues up to the 7th Division, through the Kreisliga Südwest to the Bezirksliga Süd. Following these, with 18 teams each, are the Inselliga King's Rock (only for teams from the entire island), the Oberliga Archipel of the two islands of Lionsroar, and finally the Regionalliga Zentrum, which includes teams such as TuS Autenried, St. Löwenstein, Kelstadt Fußball, Eintracht St. Harfen, and LFC Schwarzlord. After that, as is well-known, come the Third, Second, and First Divisions of Lionsroar.
Season 1 to 3 - Division 13
1. Season - 2000/2001
Lionsroarian professional season: Season 00/01
The TSG 1846 is currently in the lowest possible league, the Münchert-Oberhaus Staffel D. They compete against 10 other local teams, with only the first-placed team earning promotion, while the others remain in the same division. The 2000/2001 season of the 13th league has 18 matchdays. Alongside TSG 1846 Münchert, the participating teams are the third team of FC Viktoria Oberhaus, the second team of FC Lysing 04, the senior team of Sport Neufort, FC OFC B (FC Oberhaus For Cancer B), a charity team from the Münchert West Clinic, the second team of FC Gronius, the Studentensport 1860 team from the University of Applied Arts, the second team of Die Wallstroem, the third team of Eintracht Schwangau, and the newly founded Eintracht Trombar 78, named after the first friendship group of its players.
These teams face off in the season opener against the "great" TSG 1846 Münchert, who, due to fears of riots, were not allowed to host a home game. Instead of the grand Sportpark Münchert with its 33,331 seats, the game was held at Eintracht Schwangau's sports ground, which has no seating. Münchert managed to secure their first win, a 1-0 victory. Their second win followed on the next matchday against Wallstroem's second team. However, only Eintracht Schwangau's third team and Viktoria Oberhaus ranked above them. The former handed Münchert their first defeat of the season—unbelievable!
At the start of the season, Münchert organized open training sessions to scout outstanding players and managed to assemble a promising team, including club legend Viktor Martin, who had previously played for Münchert in the top league. However, the team needs time to gel. A clean sweep is not yet on the horizon. Following victories against Studentensport 1860 (2:0) on matchday 4 and a draw against Gronius (0:0) on matchday 5, Münchert held 4th place in the table. Eintracht Schwangau lost to Sport Neufort, which solidified their position at the top, while Viktoria Oberhaus maintained their lead. Münchert registered another draw against OFC B. A glimmer of hope came with a 3-0 away victory against table-toppers Neufort, attended by a record 5,000 "away fans."
However, Münchert's home performance remained dreadful, with a 1-2 loss to Lysing 04's second team. Viktoria Oberhaus's third team pulled further ahead, leading Neufort by 6 points and Münchert by 7 points. In a direct matchup, Münchert failed to impress, losing 2-1 to Oberhaus in the 90th minute. Additional results include: a 2-0 victory against Eintracht Trombar 78 on matchday 10, a 2-1 win against Die Wallstroem II away, a 2-3 loss to Eintracht Schwangau III, and a 2-1 loss to Studentensport 1860.
FV Viktoria Oberhaus III earned promotion to Staffel C alongside their second team, FC Viktoria Oberhaus II, while Eintracht Dynamo FC IV was relegated. It’s another lower-tier season ahead for TSG 1846 Münchert.
2. Season - 2001/2002
Lionsroarian Professional Second Season: Season 01/02
This season, TSG 1846 Münchert opens at home against Eintracht Schwangau III. The former, with its large fan base, manages to sell almost 20,000 tickets, and even around 500 guest fans from Schwangau's first team have traveled to the game. In a spectacular match, Münchert narrowly loses 2-3 at home. The following results were: a 0-1 home loss against Sport Neufort, their first win of the season with a 0-2 victory against FC OFC B, a 2-1 win against Die Wallstroem II, a 2-1 loss against Trombar, a loss against Studentensport, and a 2-0 defeat against Gronius.
They are now in 8th place on the table and already 10 points behind first place—this season seems to be another write-off. And then, they manage a surprising 2-4 victory against Lysing 04, who are competing at the top. Incredible. Further results of the season are: a 4-3 win against Dynamo's fourth team, a 1-3 win against Schwangau, and a 2-4 victory against league leaders Neufort, closing the gap to 10 points! This is followed by a 2-1 loss to FC OFC B. But then they show presence again with a 5-1 victory against bottom-of-the-table Wallstroem.
Despite being in 3rd place, there remains a 10-point gap to Neufort, which is impossible to close in the last five matchdays unless Neufort makes significant mistakes—which they likely won't. However, even after a slip-up by the league leaders against the bottom team, Münchert also stumbles drastically with a 5-1 loss against Trombar. The final results are: a 4-1 win against Studentensport, a 4-2 loss to the now first-placed Gronius, their first draw of the season two matchdays before the end (2-2 against Lysing 04), and on the final matchday, a defeat against Dynamo.
Münchert finishes 5th in the table with the following record: LLVVLLLVVVVLVLVLDL. Gronius is promoted with a one-point lead over Neufort.
3. Season 2002/2003
Lionsroarian Professional Third Season: Season 02/03
In their first home match, Münchert faces the clear favorite Neufort, who has dominated the league for two seasons, and manages an impressive 3-1 victory. However, their next match against Eintracht Dynamo ends in a draw. This is followed by a decisive 3-0 win against Lysing. Once again, another draw follows, this time against Trombar. A 2-0 victory is achieved against Wallstroem. At this point, only the current first-placed Schwangau III and their closest rival, Münchert, remain undefeated.
Unfortunately, Münchert suffers their first defeat of the season against Moosbach-Leypzig with a 2-1 scoreline. Additional results include: a victory against Studentensport 1860, and a critical 2-1 win over league leaders Schwangau in a sold-out home match, which places Münchert in first place. However, a subsequent draw against FC OFC B proves to be a setback for their momentum. This is followed by a loss to Neufort.
Münchert regains their form with an important win against Dynamo, who had previously recorded a 5-0 victory. They secure a 1-0 victory against Lysing, but then draw again against Trombar. A bitter 2-1 loss to Wallstroem leaves them tied on points with Neufort. Münchert drops points in a draw against Moosbach, but fortunately, Neufort also stumbles against Wallstroem.
With three matchdays remaining, the race remains incredibly tight. Münchert manages a 4-2 win against Studentensport and now holds a three-point lead over Moosbach. On the final matchday, Münchert seals their fate in a nail-biting 1-0 victory against third-placed Schwangau in a sold-out Münchert Sportpark with 33,000 spectators, clinching promotion to Class C.
