North Bardonia is a land of empires, from Kharistani Sultanate to the Hansan Empire, the peninsula has been dotted with major powers and their infamous rivalries. North Bardonia was also considered as a beacon of knowledge and power in the aftermath of the formation of Carthiada and her empire spanning large swaths of the Penitusian. Conquered by the expanding Hanseatic empire North Bardonia was the first to successful break away from the empire marking the slow decline of Hansa to a minor power as see in this modern age. Post revolution and after it dabble in the Great War North Bardonia would falter and decline eventually leading to a civil that would result in an ultraconservative government dominated the peninsula for much of the latter half of the 20th century.
Beginning roughly 160,000 thousand years ago the people of the East Magnaterra naturally moved west for more land. This ‘Slow Migration’ eventually to the nomadic Kowri people to settle in the North of North Bardonia continuing a nomadic lifestyle over the vibrant lands. Around 100,000 years ago another group of people coming instead from the west begin the ‘Second Slow Migration’, these people called the Bedouin which continues to roam in the south to this day chose the western coast to settle. Yet again nearly 50,000 years ago another group coming from the east escaping persecution arrived in a ‘Third Slow Migration’ to take over the over all parts of the Western Coastline. During this time early settlements have been noted dotting around the coast, the oldest of which, known as ‘Mothbridge’ is dated to around 32,000 years ago.
In more recent history around 2000 B.C.E. The first Old Faith settlers fleeing from persecution in the north crossed the Straits of Fate in the nation of what’s known known as Jaredistan and Tribia where a short passage allowed for small rafts to cross the Penitusian allowing many peoples to travel into the region of Western Magnaterra. These settlers chose to move east and eventually discovered themselves in the ‘Carthia’ (Promised) River Valley. Here, where the Carthia meet the sea, they built a dozen towns in the delta (ada) of the river and began using agriculture and aquaculture naming this area the Promised Delta (Carthiada). Slowly as Carthiada expanded the people within it would be divided into towns where each town would via for food, land, trade and weapons.
=== Carthiada === | |||
Around thousand five hundred years the settlement was established a group of northern Kowri people raided Carthiada, destroying many of the towns and settlements and in combination with major flooding the following year much of the towns and crops were destroyed. In order to counteract the events of the previous year and with the supposed coming of a saint of the knowing, Saint Martin of the Water, the city build walls surrounding itself and built large scale farms going up the river. St Martin helped build the first lighthouse and then became the city’s first Archpriest and built the Cathedral of Carthiada (also known as the Cathedral of St Martin of the Water). Following the completion of the dock in 500 BCE Carthiada began rapidly expanding and conquer surrounding areas as well as becoming a trading empire in the eastern Penitusian Sea. This age of rapid expansion would grow under the Hegemony (and its Hegemons) with its connection to Biggonia in the city of Chabendar in 150 CE. This age was overseen by the greatest General of North Bardonia and Carthiada, Polemarch Ispilheous Draka. This great age would last for thousands of years. The slow collapse of the Carthiadan Empire from the 3rd century to the 12th century first major action would be the Great Slave Revolt of 283 where slave leader Bel Mosualy would lead the slaves of Carthiada in a major slave revolt, Follow major military defeats in the subject states of Carthiada to it west it would begin the age of piracy to supplement lack of trade. These raids would pester much of the Penitusian coast and were a principal part of the downfall of Carthiada as a trade power. As the nations around it grew more aggressive and the once mighty Carthiadan fleet was depleting after loses and lack of wood to restore the fleet.
It was here in the early 850’s that a Plutocratic Oligarchy would form, led by the Polemarch, a once meaningful position as the leader of the armies now lowered to a state of de jure leader of the state. The Council of State (Cöincil oz Stadt) was the real power behind the collapsing and deteriorating state of Carthiada. Across its peninsula was the only major Carthiadan controlled port not located in the Carthia Sea (Promised Sea) was Krondor (Crowns Gate). Krondor in 862 would declare independence and form its own republic establishing itself as a trading port much like Ancient Carthiada.

The four largest rail operators in North Bardonia are the state-owned North Bardonia State Rails (NBSR), the public-private mix owned Penitusian Cargo Rail Bardonia (PCRB), the Carthiada Metropolitan Rail Union, a state-owned company entierlly operated by Carthiada making use of Public-private partnership for track development, and High-Speed Lines Bardonia, known as Beeline, a Public-private partnership. Beeline and NBSR operate North Bardonias high speed network (with all trains average speed being 230 kmph (143 mph), which totals at 7 lines (4 operated by NBSR, 3 by Beeline with 3 more lines planned by Beeline for 2026). More recent high-speed lines include the Uiortel-Cordo Fa Express, which runs at 270 kmph (168 mph), the fastest in North Bardonia which opened in January of 2024.
Under recent legislation, the Rail Development Act of 2019, North Bardonia has deregulated private rail lines and have actively encouraged cities to build intercity connections and metropolitan connections via tax breaks and government funding. In 2020 Kalidara, Couthal, Krondor and Clarafort announced the construction and renovation of major train stations and rail lines running between them with the goal of finishing a High-Speed Rail line (in partnership with Beeline between the three cities by February of 2025. This rail line should reduce housing prices in Krondor and Kalidara making the west oast cheaper to live on and wealthier over time. Automobiles likes cars, busses and tracks that are powered by diesel or petrol are a large cause of North Bardonians emissions and greenhouse gasses.
The National Highway System of North Bardonia began construction in 1922 as one of the many short-lived visions of King Clemont I, however in the mid 30's and early 40's, after the H-2 and H-2 provided proof of concepts and the success of the Carthiada Krondor Tollway the Sanatation Government passed two acts, the National Highway Development Act of 1938 and the National Highway Development Act of 1943 creating two highway schemes, the NHS1 built Highways 1-3 and the NHS2 built highways 3-12 (evens denote East-West Axis and odds denote North-South Axis highways). In 1961 the passage of the Highway & Regional Roads Designation Act the National Highway System now had to maintained by the federal government and regional roads and regional highways (designated by the RH status). However domestically North Bardonia relies on a wide variety of energy sources such as Nuclear, which provides the most energy, coal and oil following shortly behind that of Nuclear. However North Bardonia itself primarily relies on off of fossil fuels for power that that is quickly changing with the North Bardonian Ministry of Energy now heavily investing in alternative sources of energy such as onto Nuclear, Solar or Hydro power instead of Coal, Oil or Gas. Currently North Bardonia has 11 nuclear powers stations which provides 32% of the countries 1,500 terawatt hours of electricity that the country uses per year.
Due to a bulk of North Bardonias power coming from domestically produced coal, oil and natural gas North Bardonia has been rarely hit by petrol scares such as the 19XX Oil Crisis but still the Government has attempted to move away from its reliance on fossil fuels. Thanks in part to the 2000-2012 LUDAS coalition government North Bardonia began investing in Hydroelectric and wind power as a renewable energy source for the country however both sources only account for 6% of national energy production. Renewables only account for roughly 11% of national production although Government goals suggest that renewables should account for 15% by 2026 and 20% by 2030 with hopes of phasing out non-renewables by 2050 in accordance with the TBD Climate Accords.

The Kingdom of North Bardonia (Kingdom oz Nörd Bardönia) commonly known as the North-Bardonia, is a country located in Magnaterra neighboring the Kingdom of Eshallia to its southwest and the Commonwealth of Haverade to its North across the Straits of Damocles and the Penitusian which surrounds the nations on three sides. To its south lies the vast Barican] Desert which consumes much of the southern provinces. The nation has 8 provinces that make up the Kingdom. At 500,805 million square kilometers the nation is of moderate size and dominates all of the Carthian Peninsula. With a population of over 32 million. The national capital is Carthiada and the most populous city is Khariabad. The Kingdom is a federal semi-constitutional monarchy headed by King Erich Leftenson.
The current iteration of the monarchy was restored to power in 2019 after nearly a century in exile after a civil war exiled the royal family, the Leftensons. In modern times North Bardonia partook in the Great War as a power aligned against Hansa after a war of independence thirty years prior but more recently North Bardonian dueled with the Papalanians resulting in the April Coup restoring the monarchy and its ascension into the Vabasian Union.
North Bardonian has owed much of their wealth to its massive oil reserves, and it state owned sovereign wealth fund which the oil money has gone into. the oil wealth has been generously invested into state in order to maintain the economy of the nation and the infrastructure that is tied to it. Currently North Bardonia remains dependent on its natural resource reserves but has slowly shifted towards Tourism and Manufacturing since 2019.
North Bardonia is classed as a Newly Emergin Economy with the (TBD) largest economy in the world and the (TBD) largest economy in Magnaterra. North Bardonia is a member of the VU, MEC, DODM, BASO, and INTC
Etymology
The name of North Bardonia comes from the Hansan Colonizers. Using the Artevenian word for ‘valuable’ Burdoni came the Hansan word Bardonjia, many Hansans explorer's thing that the lands south of the peninsula would be valuable they named the land were they first colonized (now called the Syclaian Coast) Nord ov Bardonjia (North of Value). This would evolve into, as the Hansan-Carthiadan traders would say Nord Bardonjia. Once receiving independence from Hansa after nearly two hundred years of being under Hansas foot and its ties to the resources of the east that name of Nord Bardonjia would stick. Evolving into to its modern Claycian name of Nörd-Bardönia.
History
In the aftermath of a violent conflict with the Vasbian Union in previous years the nation has bounced back after a royalist coup and recently joined the Vasbian Union.
Prehistory and Ancient History
Carthiada

Religion
Religion in North Bardonia has always been a conscientious topic, with innumerable wars fought over Faith. Even in modern times faith affects politics and economic standing. Alongside countless other issues Religon is one the presents a major challenge to overcome.
The Old Faith
The Old Faith is the largest religious organization in North-Bardonia and is also the oldest. The diaspora of Old Faithers outside of North Bardonia is mainly cantered in Domlandian, [TBD] and [TBD]. Established roughly 1500 B.C. in Central Vabas. The followers of the Faith for a number of reasons, particularly famine in the region, war and religious persecution chose to leave the safety of Central Vabas and journey south towards the Vabas Strait. From there they traveled towards modern day Carthiada and established the great city on the Carthia River. This, the Carthia River, is truly the heartland of the Old Faith.
The Religious doctrine of the Old Faith centers around their Deity, the Knowing. The Knowing main teaching to its followers is to enjoy the earth and the blessings the Knowing has provided and enjoy the act of learning about the world. The Knowings core tenets excluding the main practice of enjoying the world are codified in the Book of the Prophet Martin; the doctrine requires the worship of the Knowing in the form of prayer and not to bring harm to self and of course help those and aid those who can’t help themselves.
Matheist Church of North Bardonia:
The MCNB is the one of the three main Mathesit body of North Bardonia and is a Pontificate organization in itself. The organization was preceded by the [TBD], an official body organized by the Hansan Colonial Council in 1792 and by the Council of Lordsfountain (1435)

North Bardonians leaps in medical care have always been prevalent, and one of the finest of these achievements have been the development of the first Heart transplant in 1967 at the University of Carthiada Amerston Medical Collage by Doctor Bernard Christfeldt. This medical milestone was encouraged by the North Bardonian Government which wanted to develop the medical standing of North Bardonia.

Parties and Elections
Legislature
The Parliament of North-Bardonia (Parliämentar oz Nörd-Bardönia) is made up three body’s; Chamber of the Senate, Chamber of Commons, and Chamber of Notables. The tricameral status of North Bardonia allows for a balance of power between the People, States, Clergy, Nobility and the King. The Commons, as it called is headed by the Minister-President (Ministerat-Prezidant) who is the head of the largest Party and the Government.
The Commons is the largest body and has the most legislative power passing bills, acts, and laws without much oversight from the two other houses. This is unless of course the King wishes the Senate to review a law in which a vote is called in the Senate (and for amendments and legislation involving the provinces) which is then passed to the Notables (also for amendments). The King has the most important role in the Notables and enforces the influences the votes in the Notables.
The building were the Parliament is based in is the Parliament Building which started being constructed in 1898 and was completed in 1903. The building contains all three chambers of Parliament and also is home to offices of the Members of Parliaments. A large water pool was added onto the structure in 1935.
Interestingly the Constitution ignores the succession of females to the throne and instead only refers to the monarch as “King” which lead to a Male Primogeniture being enshrined as law.
Elections
Election are held every 5 years with the notable exception of when a snap election is called, in which case the metaphorical clock on the election doesn't reset. Snap Elections are called due to Hung Parliments and allow for whatever reason they were called to elevate a major political problem in the Commons. Meanwhile the Senate doesn't have Snap Election and instead is forced to wait for a General Election.
North Bardonia uses a combination of First Past the Post and Proportionate Electoral System to decide its Commons and a FPTP for its Senate. For the Commons 650 Seats are decided by people directly from their respective electoral district and 101 divided amongst the provinces using the Proportionate a system.
Parties
Under the present system establish under the Electoral Amendment of 2018 rectifying the 1899 Constitution, North Bardonian Elections are operated under a mixed system with 650 seats reserved for municipalities which run a First-past-the-post voting system whilst the remaining 101 Seats are decided by a Proportional representation based on the national popular vote in the Commons. And for the Senate a Regional First-past-the-post system is used to decde the 80 seats. The second half of the electoral system was only added in 2018 as a part of Electoral Reforms to help with the transition to constitutional monarchy and to present a more progressive face on the politics in North Bardonia. The current ruling Government in both Senate & Commons in the Liberal Party.
Major Parties
Liberal Party:
The Liberal Party is by far the largest political party within North Bardonia, originally founded in 1899, and then re-founded again in 2018 after it was dissolved into the Democratic-Liberal Party (which was far more left leaning and pro-republican) the Liberals are most likely the most influential political group in North Bardonian History. The party has historically attracted intellectuals, industrialists and bourgeois classes and argue for liberal economic policies such as the support of the free markets, lower taxes on Small-to-Medium Enterprises (SME) and new proposals for land reform. However, the party remains relatively conservative on social issues such as abortion, education & centralization leading to it being classed as a Centre-Right political party. Historically the party attracted voters from both middle and upper classes and urban populations, religiously most voters are either Matheists or Old Faithers. They remain the most dominate political party in the country with strong majorities in all three chambers since their thrust into power in 2019.
Constitutional Democrats
The Constitutional Democrats are the second largest political party in North Bardonia and the largest right wing political party with rightwing economic and social policies such as mass privatization and a full abortion ban. The Constitutional Democrats is one of the oldest parties, having been founded in 1911 but recently the party gained new life as a coalition of a number of political parties such as the Law Order & Justice Party, the Young National Party and the National Farmers Union (NFU). The party itself retain much of its support in Farmer and Rural Areas and the upper class in urban areas and many members of the middle class in smaller cities. the UC is the fourth party in the history to call itself the head of conservatives nationwide. The party remains a good track record in provincial legislatures for balanced budget, but they still have controversial policies such as Anti-Vabasian Union and Anti-Hooserian and fiercely socially conservative.
LUDAS
The Laborers, Unionists, & Democrats Alliance for Socialism is the third largest political party in North Bardonia and the Liberal Parties leftist counterpart. Founded in 1968 by the Labour Party, Democratic Unionist Party, Socialist Party, Sturmist-Democratic Movement, and leftist elements in the Democratic-Liberal Party the coalition block was the first attempt, and a successful one, at leftist unity quickly becoming the third-largest party in North Bardonian throughout the 70's & 80's and then becoming a coalition partner under the DLP in the early 2000's before becoming the leading party from 2002-2012 dealing with the financial crisis of North Bardonia and brough up reforms in the healthcare and education system. Described as either Democratic Safralist or Social Democratic with elements of pure Safralism and Sturmism thrown in the party is defiantly a big tent leftist organization grabbing voters from the lower classes & urban areas, especially in Kharistan. However, the party remains very divided over ideology and is fractured into political groups such as Green Solidarty & New Labour on the center-left of the party and the Sturmist Political Alliance and Action! on the far left. The party is the official opposition party.
Minor Parties
National Syndaclist Party
The National Syndaclist Party is a far-right political party established in 2006 by several rightwing theorists who had studied in Tussia and had shared political views with prominent politicians in Tussia. The party has only gained seats in the modern times with them gaining seats in 2019 and then again in 2020. Much of the political party's support coming from the voter of the former Young National Party and even some from the Constitutional Democrats. The party remains fierily nationalistic but with socialist leaning on the economy such as state control of critical industries but overall, they follow the ideology of National Syndicalism. Much of the NatSynds voters come from young voters disillusioned with the status quo in both urban and rural areas. According to recent polling much of these voters are both men and don't have a university education.
Green Party
The Greens as they are affectionately called is a left-wing political party founded in 1984 by a student's group at the University of Krondor. The party first gained a seat in the 1992 election and stayed in the National Assembly until 2008. In modern times the party remains left wing with a heavy focus on green politics and a clamp down on Enviromental pollution and emissions and a focus on workers right. Its overall ideology seemingly blends with LUDAS faction, Green Solidarty and several MP's have deserted The Greens to join LUDAS as their electoral Proformance slipped in a recent by-election. Much of its support originates from young voters in urban areas.
Kharistan Unity Front
The Kharistan Unity Front is a united political organization made up of several regionalist and autonomy focus political parties such as the Independent Khari Workers Party, the Kharistan Peoples Union and the Democratic Party of Kharistan are examples of member parties. Established in 1952 as a bloc of Pro-Kharistan parties it was quickly banned in 1952 until 1996. The party is abstentionist and refusing to participate in politics unless its main objective, that of Kharistani Independence or further devolution unto Kharistan being de facto independent. The Party however is still in the minority and its support from Kharistani Nationalists dwindles as many join either LUDAS's Kharistani Workers Party.
Party of Bardonian Safralism
PBS is the main Safralist party of North Bardonian, represented at the Interpatrial and is a classed by many as a puppet of Hooseria and as the only 'far-left' party in North Bardonia the party remains relatively fringe with its support mainly from educated urban youth. The party founded in 19XX by Hooserian-Bardonian immigrants in Krondor the party remained in the fringe until modern times due to its support from politically leftist and pro-Vabasian politicians. The party is firmly safralist and remains socially and economically to the far left. Today the party is partially responsible for organizing protests and wildcat strikes nationwide to cripple the economy in order to advance their own agenda.
Law
The legal system of North Bardonia is a complicated web of interwoven institutions and articles that align to form a legal framework of North Bardonia. Courts are chosen by an independent guild that also anoints High Court members with the Kings Approval (The Kings Seal). With this independent guild the legal system is established around it. The government has to major legal offices that influence the courts: The Prosecutor-General and the Inspector-General. The former organizes trials alongside the guild and orders the beginning of investigations (through the Inspector-General) and is the only office that may authorize arrest of Parliamentarians. The latter office is responsible for the investigation of crimes and gathering evidence and works closely with the constabulary. It also operates its own federal investigative service: The Inspection Office.
Courts normally assign one Judge, two Attorneys and a Jury alongside legal counsel to both sides. The courts are very long in most cases and inquire large legal fees which the guild uses to pay for trials and other procedures. Interestingly the courts are not paid by tax dollars instead by the legal fee’s and ownership of the property of the Courthouses.
Another office of power is that of the Attorney-General which is responsible for ensuring the punishment and enforcement of the verdict and post and pre court proceedings to ensure the defendant and prosecution are prepared for court and follow the verdict by contacting different offices within the government.
Woman’s Rights
Womens rights in North Bardonia has fluctuated throughout the many centuries and many nations that have occupied the peninsula. The first token appreciation towards women in North Bardonia was in Carthiada where women could technically vote and take part in government, but this vote was extremely difficult to obtain as the requirements were constricted by the Carthiadan Senate.
In the early years of the Kingdom of North Bardonia a campaign for woman’s suffrage and universal suffrage would take the rights of women back to new heights where modern women where treated nearly equal to men at that time and during the Great War would become key parts of North Bardonia Industry. This shortlisted spree of Women’s Rights would end in 1933 with the formation of the Republic of North Bardonia.
In the 1960’s & 1970’s the suffrage movement returned with the Civil Rights Act of 1968 lead by the Democratic Liberal Party and other liberal political movements. The return of Civil Rights to women in 1968 would also lead to other civil reforms in the 70’s. Domestic Violence though in regions such as Surdistan and Kharistan is very common.
Human Rights
In modern North Bardonia Human Rights abuses have been common and been documented heavily. Domestic violence and assault is common in many regions specifically those where Surdic and Khari people occupy land. Additionally the federal government has, on multiple occasions, conducted raids, operations and full scale conflicts with minority groups with North Bardonia. Most recently the Royal Goverment in 2021 invaded Vrejemland after secessionist took control during the Electoral and Political crisis of 2021. In the past the National Goverment of President Symon Haldbert invaded Kharistan and on multiple occasions events of mass murder was document, this all took place during the Kharistan Emergency.
LGBT+ Rights
In modern North Bardonia the rights of the LGBT minority still remain in a hot topic. It is legal for homosexuals to marry in a civil service and a few Matheist organization will conduct a ceremony but the Old Faith and a majority of Matheist groups don't recognize the marriage. Transpeople are unfortunately not recognized and any doctor or medical personal who work with Transpeople to give them the necessary procedure do have their licenses revoked. Though there is still much debate on the topic the rights of these individuals the Government has refused to acknowledge the existents of this group.
Free Speech
Today freedom of speech is one of the most well documented, and well protected rights of North Bardonians. Currently the government guarantees freedom of speech, and guarantees the legality of obscenity, criticism of the government, blasphemy and defamation (in most cases with exclusions to defamation that is used in a 'political arena and within the tools of industry"). However, Hate Speech remains in the center of a new legal debate as it is currently legal under the Freedom of Speech Laws but is still legal, censorship is also still legal in some cases and sedition remains illegal under government statue.
Foreign Relations
The Kingdom of North Bardonia contains a large Foreign and Diplomatic Office with numerous subdepartments for the many nations North Bardonia is diplomatically tide too. North Bardonia has also had the pleasure of membership in numerous diplomatic, economic and military alliances over the ages. In modern times North Bardonia has joined the Vasbian Union (2020) in the aftermath of the Papalanian-Bardonia War (2018). Another economic alliance that North Bardonia has been a member of is the Magnaterran Economic Community since it's joining the organization in 1944. North Bardonia as a monarchy has also maintained the usage of marriages to strike political matches; one of the longest of such is the match making between Bardonia and Buchbach with several matches having been made over the last century culminating in a close relationship between the two. Another major organization North Bardonia is a member of the Directorate of Oil Developing Market since 1976 and is a member state of the International Council. Another Alliance that North Bardonia remains apart of is BASO, a member since January of 2023 North Bardonia is its most recent member state and remains a close ally to other regimes in the Borealian-Amnisian Security Organisation (BASO) like Tussia, Biggonia & Terra Argo.
Modern relations between Biggonia and North Bardonia were established in 1895 during the War of Independence. Following the capture of several important cities from Hansa in 1895, the Biggonian Confederation officially recognised North Bardonia as a sovereign state and sent small sums of military equipment and advisors to aid the North Bardonian forces. Since the Biggonian kingdoms retained their nominal sovereignty in 1895, recognition actually took place between October 8th-12th, with Talland being the first to recognise and Kudestadt being the last. However, only a single embassy was opened due to their co-operation in foreign affairs, with the embassy being opened after the liberation of Carthadia in 1896. The Biggonian Empire assisted North Bardonia during the Great War, dispatching <------> soldiers from the Imperial Army to fight on the Bardonian front. Despite a temporary weakening of relations during the late Kingdom, they rebounded during the North-Bardonian republican period, with them becoming one of Biggonia's closest partners during their international isolation of the latter 20th century. Biggonian agents helped to organise the Freikorps during the Sanitation Period to quell socialist revolt. During the Biggonian spring of 1975-1997, North Bardonia was the first overseas country Emperor Josef II visited and was the first time a reigning Emperor had gone overseas since 1941 in 1978. In response to the Biggonian invasion of Domlandia in 1997, North Bardonia was one of the few to not openly condemn Biggonia despite public backlash. This led to Biggonia granting unparalelled access to Old Faith missionaries for charity, with many visiting during the Biggonian occupation to adminster charity and gain converts amongst the desperate people. Despite this causing some controversies and individual missionaries being arrested during the period, relations remained strong and diplomats were never expelled from either nation throughout the period of 1997-2019. The coup d'etat in 2019 resulted in a temporary pause in diplomatic relations, as Biggonia was initially unwilling to accept the far more moralistic Kingdom which was more confrontational about Biggonian human rights abuses. Thanks to pressure from the VF and Papalania Biggonia recognised the Kingdom as the legitimate government in late November 2019. Empress Ricardina's first reign in 2021 marked the high point of relations between North Bardonia and the Biggonian Empire, largely due to the closeness of the two rulers. During the Biggonian interregnum and civil war, North Bardonia frequently aided dissidents such as providing temporary residence to Ricardina after she was forced into exile. Despite disagreements over North Bardonia's closeness with the Domlandian Social Republic, the modern Biggonian Commonwealth currently enjoys a cordial relationship with North Bardonia. Both nations share membership of the INTC, VU, and DODM. In 2024 Empress Ricardina and King Erich became engaged.

North Bardonia rail network, which spans 11,675 kilometers (7255 miles) of passenger and cargo track as of 2022, is a hodgepodge of private transport lines and government owned rail lines operated on hundreds of kilometers of track. The four largest rail operators in North Bardonia are the state-owned North Bardonia State Rails (NBSR), the public-private mix owned Penitusian Cargo Rail Bardonia (PCRB), the Carthiada Metropolitan Rail Union, a state-owned company entierlly operated by Carthiada making use of PPP's for track development, and High-Speed Lines Bardonia, known as Beeline, a Public-private partnership.
Alongside above ground rail North Bardonia has large amounts of light rail and metro line services in major cities with Carthiada being one of the largest by far in the region with XX lines and XXXX kilometers (XXXX miles) of track.
There is also approximately 142,000 kilometers of serviceable road in North Bardonia, one of the largest in the area. The Kharistan and Carthiada regions are both very dense with the number of roads & highways in their regions, which connect major city's like Kharibad, Isamir and Halamanat in Kharistan and the economic hub of Carthiada with major ports in Surdistan and Krondor. North Bardonian roads also handle international traffic coming from Asteristan and even traffic from Haverade, via ferries, where many tourists and trade go either way across the
straits every day. North Bardonia also handles a large number of containers taking goods north-south and east-west along major highways such as the H-1 (Cordo Fa-Carthiada via Uiortel and Kharibad ) and the H-2 (Krondor to Cel Or via Carthiada). North Bardonia also has a large number of Tollways operated by Public-private partnership which had originally allowed for the development and expansion of Noth Bardonias highway system. The new car market in North Bardonia is dominated by many foreign companies, like TBD, TBD & TBD, but North Bardonia also has its own car brands like Carthiada, United, & Krondor-West.
The speed limits on these roads however remained very different with Federal Highways have a minimum speed of 80 kmph and a max of 140 kmph and Regional Highways having a max of 120 kmph.
There are a total of 345 designated Airports in North Bardonia, over half (198) are rural airports operated by farmers and their crop-dusters, 110 are regional airports with no international flights and the remaining 37 are international airports with regular scheduled international flights. The two largest airports in North Bardonia are Carthiada International Airport (CRT) and Kharibad-Halamanat International Airport (KHT), both taking well over 20 million passengers a year. CRT is located in the vicinity of downtown Carthiada along the River Carthia and is the oldest, busiest and largest airport in North Bardonia with flights going to nearly every major city in Barica and Amnis and with daily intercontinental flights to Borealia, Forsia and Falakia. North Bardonia Airways, the national carrier operates a full terminal and alongside Libertas Air take up 60% of daily flights in and out of the airport.
North Bardonia, as positioned in the center of the Penitusian is a major hub for international trade, North Bardonia having 11 major ports is thusly a crux of the pan Penitusian trade North Bardonia has some of the largest port facilities in the world. The largest of which in North Bardonia is located just to the east of Cordo Fa, the Port of Cordo Fa-Penitusian (CordoPen) which opened in 1911. Alongside Cargo shipping North Bardonia also has a large passenger shipping industry with the largest North Bardonian cruise company, Penitsusian-Bardonian Lines, operates out of major North Bardonian cities like Carthiada, Uiortel, Cordo Fa, and Krondor alongside minor cities like Symons Port and Kalidara. In the North of the country ferries and catamarans cruise between Vabas and the Commonwealth of Haverade connecting Haverade, and the VU by extension to Inyiza and other islands in the Damocles Strait to North Bardonia. these ferries, run under several companies' names like Penitusian Ferry, take thousands of people across the straits every day and is a part of a larger trade network linking the Continental VU to North Bardonia.
Energy
North Bardonia is one of the largest producers of energy in Finterra, with a major North Bardonian export being that of Petroleum.

Cinema
The North Bardonian cinema scene is dominated by the two cities of Cordo Fa and Uiortel. Both host annual Film Festivals with Cordo Fa in August and Uiortel in January that bring numerous filmmakers and film stars from around the world to the two cities. Several large studios own large film locations in the Uiortel Range and within the two cities. The ‘home grown’ film industry had recently exploded with innumerable smaller studios taking up home in Uiortel and Cordo Fa. Interestingly Cordo Fa and Uiortel are home to two contrasting film styles. Cordo Fa is a hub of animation and CGI whilst Uiortel is a hub of live action. Even in genres Cordo Fa proves to prefer child friendly and the more traditional film genres whilst Uiortel is more centered towards adult genres such as action, thriller and horror.
The films industries golden age in North Bardonia would be from 1970-1990 with dozens of filmmakers produces classical films that would be huge successes to foreign audiences intrigued by the new style of filming appearing in many Bardonian films of "One Shot" films were, to the viewer, the whole film would appear as one, never-ending shot following one character during the event, such as the classic Star of the Sea (1984). Other genres also saw hiatus such as the animation scene with Prominet North Bardonian filmmaker Malros Leftenson, a filmmaker for much of his life, creating the historical drama The Winds of Fate. A classically film released in 1999 by the Cordo Fa Filming Company. Numerous films have come out of Cordo Fa and many are greatly appreciated in the wider world.

Football gained a presence in the 1940’s during a time of economic growth, tennis as a sport of the elite has also been around since the 19th Century. On the coast Sailing, Golfing, and Water Polo take prevalence.
