Battles/warsInyurstan Intervention in the Lolloh-Ruolnik War#Seige of Dekkar

Marc Obrian, sometimes erronously called "Marco Brian", nicknamed "Le Scorpiène" and sometimes called "Le Blonde dul Dekkar" is a sniper who has served with various forces and agencies of the Inyurstan government. Officially, he is credited with over 116 kills; but due to the nature of special forces operations and his work with the ISD and NIS the number is likely higher when including off-the-book kills. He is of predominantly Irish heritage with some Inyurstan mestizo descent on his mother's side.

Army Service

Obrian enlisted in the Inyurstan Army in 1992 at the age of 19. He was placed in the 23rd Light Infantry Brigade, and saw no combat operations for the first part of his career. In 1996 his PT scores, aptitude tests and marksmanship earned him qualification to attend indoctrination for the 1st Ranger Brigade, which he subsequently passed and was later sent to the elite Chiqatan Sniper School in South Guerroca.

Officially, Obrian did not partake in combat operations until the Lolloh-Ruolnik War; however, it is rumored he was involved with trans-border situations involving the Tirméno Situation and anti-narcotics operations in Torengo. In public interviews he mentions quote: "...some shit against pinkos and cartel chinos [dogs] on the mainland..." but for OPSEC reasons never confirmed dates or locations.

He became well-known during the Lolloh-Ruolnik Conflict, serving in several different fronts and campaigns as part of both the 1st Ranger Brigade and the elite Mobile Target Action Group (M-TAG). During the Siege of Dekkar, rumors spread amongst both sides that there was a blonde-haired, blue eyed Inyurstan sniper hunting Lollohians, earning him both hatred and respect - plus the short-loved moniker "Le Blonde Dul Dekkar".

When he left the Army, he had broken the national record for sniper kills by a margin of over 50 confirmed enemies KIA.

Later Career

Following his "retirement" from the Inyurstan Army, Obrian began doing contract work for both the ISD and NIS. The nature of his expect work is unknown and classified. Rumor has it that during his meeting with Emperor Kristän Ludwijck of Krjder, then-Président Jack Peresque specifically requested "Le Scorpiène" cover the rendezvous. Neither Obrian nor Peresque have made any comment on these claims, which are beleived to have originated from either an over-patriotic fan or a loose-lipped ISD operative.

According to Obrian, he has been temporarily called back into service on several occasions to assist with tense or high-priority missions.

Personal Life

Obrian has no family of his own, and claims to have little contact with his brothers and sisters. He frequents the risqué bars and shady night clubs of Fjorda De'Rivera where he resides, and is known for his unapologetic and excessive use of marijuana, alcohol and prostitutes. Despite being raised in a strong Catholic household, Marc Obrian considers himself agnostic.

Following his semi-fame, Obrian has slowly but surely adopted the mantra of Inyursta's most famous sniper. He has done several interviews, both on live TV and unrecorded sit downs with journalists, discussing a wide manner of subjects from the morality of black ops to his favorite hunting rifle. In 2016 Obrian announced he plans to write and publish a book detailing the perspective of special forces operators and his discontent with the political system.

In regards to his worldly nature, Obrian has stated the following: "The battlefield is full of dead heros. Too many honest, hard-working fathers coming back in caskets to their crying families; too many bright and intelligent sons with so much potential being cut down like grass before a brush cutter. The saying 'only the good die young' is unfortunately based in truth. Amoral, insubordinate assholes with nothing to live for like myself, we are f***ing immortal".
