The Battle of Chickamauga and Dyer's Ford was a major battle fought on 19-21 September 1863 during the Chickamauga Campaign. The Republican victory ended a Royalist offensive that was intended to push the Army of Tennessee and the Archadian Southern Expeditionary Army into southern Georgiusa. Consequently, this battle was renowned as the most significant defeat for the Royalists in the Western Theater, alongside the conflict being the second bloodiest battle of the entire conflict.
