The Military Order of the Tower and of the Sword, of Valour, Loyalty and Merit. It is one of the highest Orders that can be bestowed upon any Hellenic citizen or any foreigner.
History
The order was created in 1643 by Romulus V the Reformer, who awarded it not long after to his trusted commander, Dicepherus Halikos. Halikos, a capable officer, had lead the way on reforms to strengthen the Cataphract units and increase the effectiveness of the military exponentially. Originally, the order simply had two ranks but the others were added later on in the wake of the successful defenses of the region of Thrakos.
