The Second Fleet was first concentrated by the RON in 1620 as the Green Squadron, one of the three color-coded squadrons of the Royal Navy at the time. At the time of its formation, the Green Squadron was the main body of the fleet, and the majority of the Navy's heavy warships were typically assigned to this formation.
