Kenlis, officially the Kingdom of Kenlis (Ossorian Gaelic: Ríocht na Ceannanas), is a Kingdom of Ossoria located in the Ossorian Archipelago. Located in the center of the Ossorian Archipelago, the kingdom shares maritime borders with all of the other constituent Kingdoms and Provinces within the Home Islands with the sole exception of the Kingdom of Lodainn in the extreme west and the Kingdom of Éirne in the extreme east of the islands.

Geography

Kenlis occupies the entirety of the Great Island (Ossorian Gaelic: Oileán Mór), located in the heart of the Ossorian Archipelago, as well as a number of nearby islands. This location means that the kingdom shares a maritime border with nearly all of the other constituent Kingdoms and Dominions of the Realm within the Home Islands: Principality of Carmane to the north; the Kingdom of Syllan and Kingdom of Ardliss to the east; the Kingdom of Dídean, the Holy City of Armacht, and Kingdom of Firada to the south; and the Kingdom of Brecon, the Kingdom of Rocelyn, and the Kingdom of Dòrnach to the west.

The geography of the main island consists of several regions; the coastal lowlands which ring the island and in which most of the cities are concentrated, a wide hilly plateau dominated by a large freshwater lake/inland sea called The Cauldron (Ossorian Gaelic: An Coire) in the western part of the island, a lowland region in the east, and a mountainous region known as the Wilderness in the heart of the island.

History

Demographics

The 2010 census reported the population of Kenlis at 95,706,106, making the kingdom the most populated in the Realm by far, almost four times that of Ardliss, the next-most populous Kingdom. The largest city in Kenlis and Ossoria as a whole is the capital of Kenlis. The next-largest cities are Gabhrán, Liosmór, and Ráithín.

The majority of the population of the kingdom is located along the shoreline or along the primary three navigable rivers that penetrate the island's interior: the Abhainn an Sionainn, the Abhainn an Bhanna, and the Abhainn an Chláir.

Economy

The kingdom's economy is well balanced with diverse sources of income. In the interior highlands, mining and forestry are the main drivers of the economy, with deposits of iron ore, copper, silver, thorium, and being important mineral resources extracted from the mountains. Staple crops, fruit trees, livestock, and dairy products are important agricultural products grown in the kingdom, particularly in the fertile plains near the Cauldron. The kingdom is also home to a number of Ossoria's major distilleries, breweries and meaderies. The major cities of Kenlis, Gabhrán, Liosmór, and Ráithín are major industrial centers and transit hubs, with shipbuilding and the shipping industry are major industrial components of the local economy. Kenlis and Gabhrán are major tech industry hubs. Kenlis is also a major center in international finance and banking.

Politics
