Catherine (Catherine Alexia Grace; born 16 December 1993) is the Queen of Icadias. She ascended to the throne upon the voluntary abdication of her sister and predecessor, Emma. In 2017, she first married German actor David Kross with whom she has two daughters: Catherine and Madeline. Following her divorce two years later, she subsequently married her cousin Michael, Duke of Halland with whom she had her third daughter Adelaide.
As of 2020, Catherine's total net worth is estimated to be around $15 billion, making her the 4th richest royal in the world alongside Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates.
Early Life
Catherine was born on the 6th of December, 1993 as the eldest child of Swedish king Oscar V and his wife Hazel Johannes, a British businesswoman. Since she is the eldest child of a ruling king, she was automatically made Crown Princess of Icadias and contrary to her other siblings, was prepared extensively as future queen.
During her kindergarten years, she and her siblings were placed in the same school as to foster a loving bond between the each of them. In general, though she is good friendly with her brother and sisters, she is particularly attached to her youngest sister Juliana, exemplified by the former constantly protecting her youngest sister from teases by her haughty younger brother Alexius. In regards to Emma, the eldest of Catherine's two younger sisters, the two shared a common friendship and friendly rivalry in some matters.
Crown Princess
In a tradition that her siblings would later follow suit, Catherine was sent abroad to live with her cousin, Nathalie in Sussex, UK, with the reason being to allow her to better see and experience the world outside her native country. Reportedly, though Catherine was initially an introvert due to the fact that she was separated from her parents at an early age, the former came quick to love and appreciate her "adopted" family, particularly her formerly disinherited cousin Nathalie, who the former is best friends with even when they developed a strong but friendly rivalry over specific matters as they both matured well into their teenage years.
Until Catherine herself turned 18, the two royal ladies, aside from sharing a common home also shared common primary and secondary schools. For example, Catherine joined her cousin at the St Nicolas and St Mary Primary School, and when the latter's parents then moved to London, the two girls again enlisted together at the North London Grammar School, a secondary school north-east of Wembley.
Despite forming a relatively inseparable bond, Catherine reluctantly moved back to Icadias to further her education at the local Stockholm University. Coincidentally, it was around the same time that the two began developing a tense but friendly rivalry, specifically regarding their status as the "most beautiful woman". Additionally, the two princesses also notably showed common interests in dancing, and most sport activities such as football, swimming, etc.
Around the time she then graduated with a MOS degree, it was also the time where she, alongside her other siblings except for Alexius were summoned by the then ill-stricken king. Famously, out of all odds, she was not chosen as the direct successor to her father, forfeiting the position instead to her sister Emma who then ascended to the throne a few months later.
Catherine, having been consoled by her mother who encouraged her to seek out on other respected careers while she was not yet queen decided to return back to Britain where she decided to enlist in the British Army. Upon being commissioned as a Second Lieutenant later, she first saw action as part of the several British soldiers stationed in Afghanistan under Operation Toral where though she was only involved in minor skirmishes with random Taliban warriors, she was instrumental in providing communications with local Afghan women, thanks to her fluency in the Pashto language and the genuine openness in her communications. Then in 2017, for her extraordinary work, she was promoted to Captain and was subsequently deployed next to Syria to participate in the ongoing Operation Shader, having been assigned to the Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment.
Conclusively, by the time she was to later ascend as queen following her sister's voluntary abdication, she made much headlines as the first royal to ever remarkably achieve the highest field officer rank in a foreign military, as following her coronation, she subsequently retired as a Brigadier General from the British Army.
Despite being initially sidelined as the successor to her father, she was not left out from taking a share in running her sister's government when she was formally made "Minister of Foreign Affairs", a position which is traditionally held by the head of government. Evidently, owing to her natural skills and interest in international affairs, she performed well during the 4 years service under Emma and was fondly awarded with various decorations, both local and international.
Queen of Icadias
After her sister and predecessor Emma voluntarily abdicated in favor of her successfully achieved position of Deputy General Secretary at the UN, Catherine herself, being the oldest was proclaimed as heir apparent and she was then subsequently enthroned as queen a day after the former abdicated, taking on the regnal name of "Catherine".
Following her transition to a more busy and active role, she became an avid traveler and was reportedly enjoyed hosting or even doing state visits herself. However, despite her acclaimed "liberal" persona, she was exclusively critical of the Netanyahu administration in Israel, citing "unnecessary violence committed by both sides to no end". Regardless, internally, she inherited and resumed some of her predecessor's policies, while also creating policies of her own invention.
Marriage
Before her second and current marriage, she was initially married to German actor David Kross, having met the latter during a state visit to Germany. In the events preceding their marriage, according to several sources, the charmed queen reportedly paid a visit to the actor during one of his filming processes, and having been pulled by Kross's charisma and acting skills, invited the 28 year old to a spontaneous dinner date. Though the romance allegedly died off quickly following Catherine's departure back for Stockholm, palace officials later confirmed their marriage on the 22nd of September 2017. Up until their peaceful divorce on the 25th of January 2019, the two welcomed a royal baby, named Catherine in her honour and surprisingly, an another baby girl that was born on the 6th of February 2019, around a week after their divorce. Their 2nd child was later named Madeline.
However, the birth of Princess Madeline stirred some controversy as several unconfirmed individuals allegedly claim that the queen's 2nd child was presumably born out of wedlock, due to Catherine's "inability to respect a divorce agreement". Reportedly, though Catherine herself ordered no arrests as repercussions towards the individuals, Swedish police nevertheless arrested several linked individuals linked to the "outrageous slandering", which later resulted in those acquitted imprisoned for an amount of 8 months.
For a subsequent four months, though she permitted her former husband to reside in Stockholm Palace in order to assist her in taking care of their two daughters, she was then formerly affiliated with the Bruneian prince, Abdul Mateen who is 2 years her senior. Reportedly, the royal couple's relationship became public upon the leak of mildly intimate photos of the couple. Despite the controversies surrounding the Bruneian royal family, Catherine and Abdul Mateen, who the former referred to as "Mateen" actively pursued a relationship which aside from worrying her relatives and family back in Icadias, brought rumours of an official marriage following misinformed news in Brunei, claiming that the queen had received a $1.4 billion engagement ring and a marriage proposal.
While Catherine did received a $1.4 billion ring, she confirmed that the two "had thoughts, but did not settled on an engagement or marriage" as the two were aware of the surrounding controversies regarding the Bruneian royal family.
Ultimately, on the 8th of June 2019, she was married to her cousin Prince Michael, who is also Duke of Halland. The latter, having been introduced to the queen by his sister Nathalie, was married to the former in a lavish and private ceremony at Værøy island, attended by their closest family members and relatives, alongside several exclusive guests. As of now, persistent rumours circulated that the queen is expecting her 3rd child by January 2020.
Personal Life
Catherine, though now occupied with her busy works as queen was a noted sportswoman and was considered by some as an "extremely active and healthy young lady", having favored the swimming and football during her school years.
In regards to her personal life, she was generally friends with all of her siblings, even including her estranged brother Alexius. However, it is publicly known that she is an extremely close and loving companion to her youngest sister Juliana, as she often used to protect her fragile little sister from occasional teases by their other siblings.
Aside from her avid joy for physical activities, she is also a growing writer, having written her first book, "Icadias And Islam", to which despite the book being labelled as "slightly controversial", it transmitted her own personal views to the public and was loudly acclaimed as a wide success nationwide.
Additionally, before her current marriage to her cousin Michael, the Duke of Halland, she was formerly married to German actor David Kross, with whom she shared with two daughters, named Catherine and Madeline respectively. As of now, she is rumoured by some tabloids to be expecting a third child but so far, this has never been confirmed by official sources. On April 24th 2020, she gave birth to her third daughter Madeline.
