The Royal Guard Distinguished Service Award is a military honor awarded by the Custos Luminis of Luminerra to any active duty member for "exceptionally distinguished performance a duty of great responsibility". The Royal Guard Distinguished Service Award is awarded during both peacetime and in times of declared conflict, and is the highest award issued by the Lumenic Legion solely to members of the Royal Guard.
History
Awarding and eligibility
The Royal Guard Distinguished Service Award is awarded to members of the Lumenic Royal Guard who have distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious service to the nation in a duty of great responsibility. The performance must be such as to merit recognition for service that is clearly exceptional. The exceptional performance of normal duty will not alone justify an award of this decoration. Typically, the Royal Guard Distinguished Service Award may be given to any Guardman who, while serving in any capacity with the Royal Guard, has distinguished himself or herself by exceptionally meritorious service in a duty of great responsibility. Traditionally, this award may be given to commanding officers within the Royal Guard at the battalion level.
The Royal Guard Distinguished Service Award may be made to persons other than members of Royal Guard for wartime services only, and only then under exceptional circumstances with the express approval of the King in each case.
Authorized devices
The Royal Guard Distinguished Service Award can not be awarded to the same recipient more than once, therefore no devices are authorized for this award.
