Republic Day is an annual celebration of the overthrow of the last Duke of Vescarium, Florian II, and the institution of the First Vescarian Republic. Specifically, it refers to the date on which the storming of the palace occurred, with a mob of peasants convincing the underpaid royal guard to switch sides and assist them in the arrest of the Duke. In the months and years that followed, Vescarium would undergo unprecedented political change, and republican values would be maintained despite internal and external pressures.
The holiday itself consists of commemorative artillery, fireworks, and parades throughout the country.
