AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1990 is the thirty-third edition of the annual AleziRadio Festival of Songs. The competition was held as usual in 16th of May 1990 by the authorities of Radio Basna Raya. This is the fourth time that Basna hosted the competition after doing so previously in 1964, 1981, 1987, and 1989 after the victory of Nurhaima Isa Al-Hazairah with the song "Tak Lagi". This is also the first time that the competition was held in the same region twice in a row that is not Zafizamarrah.
The AleziRadio Committee tried once again on inviting foreign countries to compete. They once again contacted Indonesia, Japan, and Yugoslavia. And once again, the three nations declined due to various reasons. And thus, the festival returned to its usual 18 songs competing.
This year, Radio Basna Raya hosted the competition. And unlike last year, all authorities that were part of Radio Basna Raya contributed to the competition's hosting as Radio Basna Kepulauan Luar (RBKL) had completed its restructuring process, rejoining the Radio Basna Raya team.
For the first time, The competition was not hosted in Radio Basna Kota and Pesisir (RBKP)'s area. Radio Basna Raya decided to host the competition in Kencana Selatan, which was and still is considered as Radio Basna Dalam (RBD)'s area. Kencana Selatan is the fourth biggest urban area in Basna, at that time, it consists of 129,388 people. Kencana Dalam is known for its mountain range which has one of North Alezia's tallest mountains, the Berunding Mountain.
The competition was held in AleziRadio Television Studio Kencana Selatan, which is the largest building by area in the town at the time. It's the first time that the competition was held in a television studio due to Kencana Selatan not having an adequate hall to host the competition. The television studio is RBD's biggest which can contain 1,500 people inside.
The stage was considered unique as the scoreboard was not visible during the presentation of songs, where the scoreboard, which was the first time that the board was digitalized on an LCD screen abandoning the physical scoreboard, was only revealed during the start of the voting process as the scoreboard slides downwards. This technique would be reused for many contests to come.
This is also the first time that the contest utilizes sattelites. Using the MAZARNUR-7 technology, the television and radio broadcast recorded better and more crisp audio and video, and in the voting session, each station transmitted their feed into Basna's feed, for the first time showing the two spokesperson's faces revealing the votes.
