Palingia (Besmenian: Palingen) is a federal state located in Besmenia bordering Utobania to the west and Frankenburg to the east. Palingia is since April 11, 2022 the 14th federal state of the Federal Republic of Besmenia, after the Palingian population voted in a referendum in January 2021 to join Besmenia.

Executive

The executive is led by the state government of Palingia, which consists of the Palingian governor and the state ministers. The governor is elected by the state chamber with a majority of its members without debate in a secret ballot for the entire legislative period. The governor appoints and dismisses state ministers. He also appoints a minister as his deputy. The state chamber can only depose the governor through a constructive vote of no confidence.

Legislature

The legislature is the State Chamber of Palingia, which is elected every five years using the open list proportional representation. The parliament of Palingia consists of 90 members.
