Early history
< name > founded Kappaksturslid in the early 1980s to compete in the Astyrian Formula Lights Series, a precursor to what is now the Astyrian Formula Two championship. The team saw moderate success in the 1980s, with their highest finish of 3rd in 1987. In 1993, the team clinched their first ever Formula Lights championship with future Formula One driver Calvin Dunn. However, many Nynorsk drivers were able to progress to Formula One due to the team's strong promotion of national talent.
