Deg (pronounced /de̞ʝ/, locally /dæi/, Nevan: Teekki) is the most northerly province of Vyvland, bordering Seerm, Wik and Helland provinces. Deg possesses the coldest climate of any province of Vyvland due to its location, while it is also the least densely populated. The province is situated mainly on mainland Vyvland, but with one substantial island, Norflaan, to its north, which served for many years as a trading outpost for northwestern Esquarian countries such as Arkiasis and Vjaarland. Deg's largest cities are Mids, Wesviy and Sdoprej, although in general the province is very unurbanised and uncultivated, with large areas of open moorland and mountains, in addition to Vyvland's only two glaciers (at Sohier and Lunadeldal). Deg is well-known for its production of maple syrup.

Deg has the largest percentage of Nevans in Vyvland compared to any other province, with 88,015 Nevans living in the province at the time of the 2012 census, making up 9.4% of the province's total and just over a quarter of the national total. Many Nevans in Deg are of non-white or mixed origin according to the country's racial laws. Approximately half are estimated to be refugees from racial or political discrimination, or their descendants. Due to the high Nevan population, it is compulsory for provincial and local government documents to be in Nevan, while it is taught in the vast majority of schools. The municipality of Wenerold has the highest percentage of speakers, with 45% of the population in the village speaking Nevan natively. However, the province is not officially bilingual; the vast majority of the province's population are ethnic Vyvlanders.

Politically, the area is generally conservative; in the most recent election, the province recorded a 41% vote share for the Conservative Party, thereby securing seven seats, with the closest opponents being the Liberal Party, who gained just three. The only significant areas of left-wing support are in the cities of Mids and Wesviy. The Provincial Diet also has a large rightwing presence, with a coalition between the Conservative Party and National Party having kept control in the province for the last decade, following on from a Conservative majority administration the likes of which are very rare in Provincial Diets.
