Noa Apekalmoa is a Kalean celebrity, businessman, and politician. He was born in Heiau, Hema, Kalea on December 26th, 1960. He is the great-grandson of Kalea Apekalmoa, founder of Kalea. He is currently serving as Co-President of Kalea.
Early life and education
Noa Apekalmoa was born into the prominent Apekalmoa family in Heiau, Hema, Kalea on December 26th, 1960. Being born into a family as well known as his, life growing up wasn't easy for Noa. He always felt there was a public pressure to live up to his great-grandfather's reputation, something he knew he never could. From age five, he attended the Heiau Center for Learning, where he earned top marks, eventually graduating thirteen years later in 1978 second in his class. He then went on to attend Heiau Municipal University where he majored in economics and minored in statistics. In 1982, he graduated with a Bachelor's in both and made a career in both finance working for Heiau Financial Group where he quickly rose through the company's ranks, eventually becoming the CFO in 1984. He would remain there for another ten years before being promoted to CEO in 1994. In 2001, he retired from Heiau Financial Group early at the age of 41 after the death of his mother and began traveling the world. He would not come home again for another ten years in 2011 after the death of his father, where he lived in his family home until he ran for Co-President in 2022. He campaigned on the common feelings at the time shared by a majority of the population, particularly their feelings towards Yuan after the sinking of the KMP Iolana, making several political observers label him as a populist.
Presidency
During the short time Noa has been Co-President, he has been a big driving force behind the new approach to foreign policy, as can be seen in the invasion of Terehan and Taupo.
Domestic affairs
Agreeing to leave domestic affairs in abler hands, Noa has supported his counterpart's domestic policy. He is particularly satisfied with the fruitful results that Eleu Kamea has gotten from them and has given her his approval to continue with her approach.
Foreign affairs
Unlike previous administrations, Noa has been more open to using aggressive action when it came to armed conflict, as can be seen in his attitude towards the invasion of Terehan. However, in the case of the ongoing humanitarian mission in Taupo, he has come to sympathize with the Taupoese people and has promised to take a more diplomatic approach to the delicate political situation that has been unfolding for the last decade.
Political positions
Aside from his short campaign comments when asked what he stood for just before polling began in September 2022 and from what can be gathered regarding his policies now that he has been elected, not much can be said about where Noa's political positions lie. Political observers have, however, labeled him as a populist.
Personal life
Noa spent a decade outside the country from 2001 to 2011 but there is little known about what. After his return in 2011, he remained elusive by living a reclusive life in his family home for the next eleven years.
