Personal Life

Skjæran was born in the northern town of Vejstrup in the Duchy of Åland to Eirik Arnesson Skjæran, a career military officer, and Eva Leifsdóttir Skjæran, a nurse. She is a member of the Skjæran family, a prominent political and military family. She attended school in Vejstrup, graduating in 2000. Following graduation, she attended the University of Stavanger, pursuing a degree in International Relations. She obtained her BSc in 2004, and an MA in 2006.

She is an avid fan of football, and is a fan of Stavanger FK.
