Mushakan (Mushakian: Մուշական, Mushakan) officially the Republic of Mushakan (Mushakian: Մուշականի Հանրապետություն , Mushakani Hanrapetut’yun) is a island country republic located in the Magna Sea. Its closest neighbor is Judias. Mushakan consists of an archipelago, with 5 other smaller islands surrounding it. 98% of the population lives on the main island, Hin, while 2% of the population lives on the 5 other islands. The area size of the country is about 848 Square Kilometers, with the majority of it being the island of Hin. It is a big tourist attraction in the Magna Region and is a major industry for the country, only the Sugar Cane industry is the largest major industry for Mushakan.
The islands of Mushakan were formed by volcanic activity around 13,000 BR. There are still some geothermal activity on the small island of Ecio, where Mt.Ecios is the most active volcano in the Magna Sea.
History
According to ancient tales, The ancestors of Mushakan traveled from a mythical continent. During their travels, they encounter a Leviathan god called Sā́dhṛmayr that led them to the island of Hin. It is unknown when exactly the Mushaken settled on the island, but earliest archealogical evidence dates back to 836 AR. In written history of their people, the foundation of the Republic is dated at 1082. During the first 100 years, it was relative peace and the Mushai had become a pacifist society and there was a ban on personal weapons for citizens of the republic.
5 years of Darkness
in 1203AR, the current Duka of Mushakan, Elis Menrove, lifted the ban on weapons on government officials to help him equip his personal guard with state of the art weaponry against his political rivals. This lead to Weapon shops opening all around the nation and regional criminal gangs arming their grunts to gain an monopoly of the Sugar Cane market. This also lead to the black market of weapon sales to spike. Soon, Criminal gangs had territory on the islands, and soon acted as Criminal-controlled islands with little Mushai jurisdiction over those islands. This lead to the corruption of government and a state war against the criminal cartels by the government called the Mushai State War.
