The Central System Bank of the Caminoes (Des Centralis Systemet Banc et de Kaminoa) is the country's central bank as it was first established in July 26, 1910 replacing its predecessor the Bank of Caminoes.
The CSB Governing Council makes monetary policy for the country and is responsible for; the issuance and management of banknotes, implementation of monetary policy, providing settlement services and ensuring the stability of the financial system, compilation of data, economic analyses and research activities, treasury and government securities-related operations, administering foreign exchange reserves, and defines the intermediate monetary objectives and key interest rate of the Caminoes. The CSB Executive Board enforces the policies and decisions of the Governing Council, and may direct the national central banks when doing so. The CSB has the exclusive right to authorise the issuance of banknotes. Member states can issue euro coins, but the volume must be approved by the ECB beforehand. The bank also operates the ARTGS (Advanced Real-time Gross Settlement) payments system for all national banks.

The ARTGS (Advanced Real-time Gross Settlement) payments system
The Advanced Real-time Gross Settlement (ARTGS) payments system is a state-of-the-art financial infrastructure developed and implemented by the CSB. As a critical component of Caminoes' modernized financial ecosystem, the ARTGS system plays a pivotal role in facilitating instantaneous and secure large-value financial transactions across the nation.
This cutting-edge payment system offers a comprehensive solution for the real-time settlement of high-value interbank transfers, fostering efficiency and reliability in Caminoes' financial sector. The ARTGS system operates on a robust and technologically advanced platform that ensures the immediate and irrevocable transfer of funds between participating financial institutions.
One of the notable features of the ARTGS system is its capacity to process various types of transactions, ranging from interbank transfers to the settlement of securities and high-value commercial payments. This multifaceted approach underlines Caminoes' commitment to providing an all-encompassing financial infrastructure that addresses the diverse needs of its economy.
The ARTGS payments system reflects Caminoes' dedication to financial innovation and modernization, positioning the nation as a leading force in the realm of secure, real-time, and large-value payment processing. Its successful implementation has led to streamlined financial operations, reduced settlement risks, and enhanced economic stability, ultimately benefitting both businesses and consumers across Caminoes.
The system was developed during the time of Edalyn Atlee-Atticker's time as part of her Chairmanship's administrative plans. It was then implemented and fully operational by the time of her successor's tenure (Jilluan Billings Jr.).
