The League of Jaconia (Hestaican: Leuga Jaconia), known as more commonly as Jaconia, is a soveriegn state in southwest Cybelleum in the world of Verthandi. The League is a coaltion of former vassals of the southern regions of the Kingdom of Hestaica of the Holy Aventine Empire, which work together in a confederation under a central government run by the Patriarch of Jaconia. Jaconia is an ancient city, located in the which a political power before it was conquered by the Alpanan Kingdom and incorporated later into the Alpanan Republic. It became the prime trade city in the Western Maritamanian Sea, and quickly became the centre of Imperial administration in the province and later Kingdom of Hestaica. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Hestaica, which was a crown Kingdom of the Empire. The city profited from being the in the Empire. The city became even more vital to Imperial affairs when the passage to the New World was opened, and the city became the central hub for the Imperial settlements in the west. This caused the city to grow even larger and more prominent. The city continued to enjoy this growth until the Clementine Wars, when Imperial Hestaica was cut off and conquered by the Auvernian forces of Pierre Clement. The Imperial Vicar, Patriarch Jose Casas, eventually began to raise a mass urpising against the Auvernian Occupiers. The revolt was successful, and the Clementine Regime was overthrown and the remaining loyalists in the south of Hestaica joined with the Patriarch against the forces of Ostiar and Varille, which supported the Clementines. In the end, the Emperor released the Lords of Varille from their sworn vassalship, allowing them to vassals Sui Juris. Patriarch Casas codified the League, transforming the former Imperial administration now to running the League. After gaining independence, the League has had struggles with Varille's expansionism, but has allied with Luistia to protect its interests and to maintain its soveriegnty.
