Mount Kimepra (Khadenz: Vekh Kimepra) is a mountain in Kamalbia, with its summit on the border between Oduya and South Kamalbia. It is the high point of the Uwana Highlands. It has a maximum elevation of 1,887 metres (6,191 ft) above mean sea level, making it the tallest mountain in Kamalbia and the country high point of both Oduya and South Kamalbia.
The Uwana Highlands are an important region for mining. Iron mines on the Oduyan side of the border have encroached against Mount Kimepra's environs, although the mountain itself is officially protected under a unique bilateral accord.
Name
Mount Kimepra is named for Jakúba Kimepra, the last Cadenzan earl of Kamalbia. Kimepra authorised a map-making commission in 1790 as part of his administrative reforms of Cadenzan Kamalbia. Measurements were taken from hilltops across the territory. The relatively remote Mount Kimepra was confirmed as its highest point and named in honour of the earl. It is unclear what native name preceded this new title. It is referred to locally as Kamep but this is understood to be a shortening of the Cadenzan name.
