OWB-5 or BOV-5 (Mazurian: Opancerzony Wóz Bojowy; Serbian: Borbeno oklopno vozilo - literally meaning "Combat Armoured Car") is armored personnel carrier designed and manufactured by Nikolian military technological institute VTI.
Design
The OWB-5 armour is made of composite materials and can resist a hit against 12.7mm caliber round. Also, the vehicle can withstand a blast equivalent to 5kg of TNT. The vehicle is also amphibious and is protected against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear attack. OWB-5 contains advanced electronics suite with situational awareness system (SŚS-200M) and can connect to battlefield network. Thermal imaging cameras provide for greater visibility for the driver and commander during low-visibility situations such as night, fog or heavy weather. Vehicle can carry up to 10 soldiers and contains 4 firing ports. Doors are located on sides and can provide cover during the unload. The vehicle has a modular port for a turret and can adopt several different types of turrets. Mostly, OWB-5 is armed with mounted 12.7mm heavy machine gun or PM-1, light machine gun.
