Common or Avenian is a Western language of the Ave branch that is widely spoken as a native language in Odevia and Avelon. The most widely spoken second-language in the world, Common is a global lingua franca in trade, diplomacy, science, culture, and international relations. Common is pluricentric and has two main influential standards which are Common Standard and Standard Avenian official in Odevia and Avelon respectively.
Modern spoken Common and its dialects are descended from the standardized varieties of Common that were widely spoken in Avelon and its colonies.
Several Common mixed-languages have emerged across the Wider Realms, including Dalo-Common, Federate-Common, and Gaso-Common.
