The '''Enlightened Kingdom of Dei Setthi Amnach''', more commonly referred to as '''Amnachea''' is a sovereign country in western [[Coius]] bordering [[Xiaodong]] to the south, [[Subarna]] to the north and [[Phula]] to the east.
The first instance of Ataran civilisation was when Satyist monks settled what is now Boeng Thom in the 200s CE. Originally tussling with the natives of the land for influence over the rich Thom Delta and the ability to cultivate rice in the area, these early Atarans forced the natives out of the land in 273 CE after they struck success in the Battle of Nattawegone, establishing the Atara Empire. The Atarans enforced strict religious policies and suppressed/executed anyone who refused to adhere to Satyism and the country quickly flourished as it subjugated much of the nearby land and claimed all of the coastal land it owns today. The early Atara Empire utilised the Jyoho strategy that had been so successful throughout the Phuli Empire to quell rebellions and reduce unrest.
The Atarans found economic success trading with the kingdoms of Hyndvana and the empire, centred around Boeng Thom, entered a golden age around 980 - 1030. The empire crumbled thanks to the incompetency and lavish spending of the monarchy and in 1158 the empire crumbled as bankruptcy was rampant throughout its lands. Many landowners declared independence from their Ataran overlords and by 1170 the once great empire was limited to the borders of Boeng Thom. When Dharanindravarman I ascended to the throne in 1181, he began his reformations of the economy, introducing stricter taxes on the population of Boeng Thom while limiting government spending and directing more of it towards the military. Coupled with his natural expertise as a military tactician, Dharanindravarman began a series of reconquests of the ancient Atara Empire in 1189. As victory after victory was bestowed upon the young king, he earned the title of "Warrior King" and was largely revered as a figure who was guided by the light of Satyism in his reconquests. Dharanindravarman had reconquered most of Atara proper when he proclaimed the Enlightened Kingdom of Dei Setthi Amnach, literally the "Land of Authority" shortly before his death in 1220.
First Euclean contact with Dei Setthi Amnach came around in 1606 when Gaullican merchants began trading with the coastal cities of the kingdom. Bringing Euclean technologies with them, the Gaullicans were often repressed for their different way of life, customs, culture and religion by the ethnically-isolationist Amnachean peoples. As such, Euclean trade was scarcely established and Amnachea fell behind its Coian counterparts who had benefited from the trade connections with the continent. Gaullica would eventually force their way into the country in the Amnachean Wars between 1833 and 1861, where the country was later designated as a dominion of the Gaullican Empire. As such, it fought in the Great War under Gaullican Banners, however, due to a large Estmerish presence in the region and Xiaodong's preoccupation with Senria in the south, the region largely suffered during the war. When the Gaullican Empire was dismantled in 1936, Amnachea gained its independence through the peace treaties that ended the war, with the borders it has today. Due to years of colonial oppression and suffering, Amnachea quickly became hostile to the Euclean nations whom they deemed as inferior and as people who strayed from the true religion. Due to this, Amnachea became increasingly religiously nationalist and ethno-nationalist, with those who are not Steyrist and those who are not Amnachean suffering widespread oppression throughout the country. The country has theocratic elements and the Preahsang, the traditional head of the Steyrist monks of Amnachea, is the second-highest authority in the country, behind the monarch themself.
