Cassander IX Dionysus Eupator Theos Philopator Anicetus (17 June 57 – 23 November 118) was a Seleucid ruler that reigned for approximately 11 years. He is also a member of the Dionysean-Anicetid Line of the dynasty, being born to Seleucus IX Anicetus.

Cassander Anicetus was remembered for initiating the first Valkyria Hunts in history, with the purpose of ascertaining and studying the power of the Valkyrur for means of augmenting the military force and medicinal studies.

Background

Reign

Valkyria Hunts

After the scientific research upon a captured Valkyria named Tryphosa, Cassander Anicetus saw new opportunities in augmenting the Empire into a stronger military power. He then issued the Imperial Edict on Valkyria Hunts in 106 CE, which legitimized the hunting the Valkyria for research purposes for military technology. It earned a majority of votes in the Imperial Boule, thus putting it into effect immediately throughout the Empire.

Hunts in Macedonna

Before the reconquest of Macedonna by Seleucus IX Anicetus, Macedonna held a considerable Valkyria population due to the alliance of the Valkyrur realm Ahushomr'Thalas and the Antigonid Empire.

After the Edict was issued, the satrap of Macedonna Pleisthenes of Athens initiated the first Hunts throughout the entirety of the Grecian mainland.

Fourth Valkyrur-Seleucid War

After the success of the Hunts, Ahushomr'Thalas declared war against the Empire in retribution. Cassander then charged the General of the Macedonna Satrapy Heliodorus of Selione in initiating a series of campaigns in obtaining more territories above the Danube River.

In and after obtaining territories, Heliodorus complied with the Edict by raiding towns and cities with Valkyria populations and brought them back to the Empire to be transferred to various scientific laboratories.

Assassination and Death

Legacy

Cassander Anicetus was portrayed in a negative light in every Yggdist sect in Europa. Given his acts of hunting down the Valkyrur for exploitative studies of their power and obtaining it, many Yggdists consider him a villain who was determined to empower himself and the Seleucid army to become godlike, despite the present-day clandestine endorsement of Valkyria experimentations and weaponizations among their populace. Thellos Quietspell's Valkyrur Epistle X justifies this view precisely:

Among the descendants of the third great enemy, Cassander Anicetus proved himself to stoop his malevolence on another level. Not only did he carry on the views of his father, but he also initiated the hunts to empower him and his people to reach the divine status of our beloved deities. It is a blasphemy to condemn vehemently.
