Sir Andrew John Marshall GM (born 19 June 1987; aged 32) is an Ainharic international cricketer who currently captains the Ainhar national cricket team. As of September 2019, Marshall is the highest-rated batsmen in the world and his playstyle is characterised by his uniquely and distinctively high batting averages, currently averaging 73.09 in The Keys series between Ainhar and Newrey, the highest of all time, as well as having the highest run count in Keys' history at 4,014. Marshall currently plays domestic cricket in Ainhar for Cranfell County, where he has remained since his county cricket debut in 2009.
Marshall made his batting debut for Ainhar internationally in a 2009 Keys test against Newrey, where he stunned the Newreyans for an 87-run debut before he was bowled out from an lbw. Newrey would go on to win the 2009 series but Marshall's presence in the test proved influential as he was named as a regular team started immediately afterwards. He made his T20I debut against Veleaz in the same year, helping the team to a win by a margin of six wickets. Marshall would continue to have outstanding performances in the Keys series, leading Ainhar to a victory in the 2011, 2013 and 2015 Keys series, securing 14 hundred-run performances in the process and quickly approaching Ainharic batsmen John McLoughlin's 2,917-run record set between 1939 and 1951. In the 2017 series, Marshall was named as captain of the Ainharic squad and broke McLoughlin's record in his first innings with an exemplary 151 not out to lead Ainhar to victory in the first test, however, Marshall and Ainhar would eventually fall to the Newreyans following superb bowling performances from Hadden Kent and Edmund Axton.
Marshall won ICC's Cricketer of the Year award in 2015 and 2018, and is widely acknowledged and cited as one of the best batsmen of all time, winning a plethora of awards and attracting the favour of many historical cricketers, particularly by batsmen.
