"Bird is the Word" is a song performed by Concordian surf rock band The Garbagemen.

The song was released in 1963 and reached No. 4 on the Surfin Rock Top 100. It was widely popular throughout the War of Lorican Aggression even up to the Post war crisis.

The song regained worldwide fame and has become an internet meme thanks to the Concordian animated show, Guy of the Family; where it became a running gag.
