7-LRQ is the nickname given by radio listeners to a shortwave radio station that broadcasts on the frequency 5180 kHz. It broadcasts a short tone, almost identical to a tone used on answering machines, at a rate of approximately 16 every 60 seconds, 24 hours a day. On occasion, the tone will stop and be replaced with what is believed to be a bar from the Trellinese hymn Litartxi Ryio'qi followed by a string of letters, repeated seven times. The station's origins have been traced to Trellin, but despite speculation its purpose - and even its existence - remains officially unconfirmed.
Spikes in activity on 7-LRQ were recorded in January and February 2014, possibly linked to the resurgence of the repatriation movement in the Trophy Ports of Rha'gutza and Khorvu, and again shortly before the outbreak of the War of the Eastern Velar.
