The Green Party (West Crylantian: Viridis Partita, East Crylantian: Grønnepartiet) is a green political party in the Crylantian Federation.
Founded in 1981 by concerned environmentalists about the impacts of climate change, it slowly built up support, gaining three seats in the 1985 elections and having a steady increase in support until it became the fifth largest party in 2009, displacing the Socialist Party as the largest party in the state of Lentini, where the party was based. In 2017 it gained 10.2% of the vote and following the passage of the Fourth Amendment was admitted into the Executive.
Today the party conforms to the Four Key Principles of Green politics: Environmentalism, social justice, grassroots democracy and pacifism. To this end, it supports a carbon-free Crylante in which everyone gets a fair chance and a decent living, and the freedom to do what they want. Their economic policy tends towards eco-socialism and market socialism, and they have a pacifist foreign policy.
They have their headquarters in Lentini, the state that they have performed best in, and currently have 23 seats in the People's Assembly and 2 seats in the States' Assembly. Since the 11th of April, 2017, they have a sole member of the National Council, who is Rikard Steinsson, the Party Leader and Director for Culture, Sports and Equality.
