The Forefathers' Party (Nausikaan: Esi-isämme) is a green conservative political party within Crylante advocating for the independence of the Nausikaan region.
Following the creation of the unified Crylantian state in 1915, the party was formed to protest the union, and for Nausikaa to re-establish the republican government seen between 1900 and 1915. During the "little dark age" of 1937 to 1941, which culminated in the rewriting of the constitution, the party was dominant in Nausikaa, controlling three out of four state governments in January 1941, with plans for a referendum on independence on the table. The party decreased in prominence after the formation of the Federation, but in the 1970's there was a resurgence as Nausikaan nationalism spread, leading to an independence referendum in 1978, which voted 52.7% to 47.3% in favour of remaining in Crylante. However, after the referendum, the party declined in influence, although it still remains significant.
The party is a green conservative party advocating for a respect of Nausikaan tradition, further devolution of powers to Nausikaa with the eventual goal of independence, a cap on immigration, a more free market but with a strong public sector, and an encouragement of environmentally friendly policies.
The party is headquartered in Neititsnot, Nausikaa, and possesses 9 seats in the People's Assembly, and one in the States' Assembly. It is also represented in the state parliaments of the four states comprising the Nausikaan region. (Kalastjärvi, Neititsnot, Särmäki and Viikmaa) Its current leader is Ahti Saaristo, who is a member of the state legislature for Neititsnot.
