Elise Von Strauss is the 21st Kaiserin of the Matriarchy of Lunderfrau, she was coronated on June 29th 2015 after the passing of her Mother, Theodora Von Strauss.
Elise was born on May 21st 1986 in Laubenhugel, Lunderfrau to Kaiserin Theodora Von Strauss and Kaiser Consort Ludwig Von Strauss. An only child, Elise was strictly monitored and guarded for most of her childhood. Even so, she has mentioned in interviews that she did not feel smothered by this increased attention, noting at an early age that she was inheritor to the Matriarchy. Elise excelled in the classroom and on the field. While in High School at St. Arda's Prepatory Acadamy, she was valedictoriana and lettered in two sports, Track and Football. She was Captain of the St. Arda Valkyries her Senior Year. Elise attended Crown University in 2005 and recieved a Bachelorettes Degree in Aristocratic Sciences in 2009. Upon Graduation, Elise succeded her Mother as Duchess of Ardenne, a position her mother yeilded to Elise to prepare her for Governing.
From 2009-2015 as the Duchess of Ardenne, Elise spearheaded many reforms. These included the introduction of elections at the local level as well as pushing for greater LGBTQ Protections across the Matriarchy. Chief among her reforms was extending paid parental leave to men in 2012, this would ultimately be overruled by her Mother, setting up a bitter clash between mother and daughter. After her mother, Theodora, was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in Summer of 2014, Elise pulled back her progressive agenda to both sate her ailing mother and to give her time to see to her needs.
Kaiserin Theodora Von Strauss died of complications of Lung Cancer on June 24th 2015. Elise was officially coronated as Kaiserin 5 days later on the 29th. Unlike her Mother, Elise has proven to be a reformer and a progressive in several areas. She is widely regarded as the most progressive Kaiserin since Caroline II. In addition to spearheading climate change initiatives, LGBTQ protections and an easing of Press Censorship at home, Elise has also pushed for detente with Lunderfrau's neighbors, Including Winst,Mèronie and Boaga. Currently the Kaiserin is in the midst of dealing with an unprecedented financial meltdown and Recession.
