Masa Minor (Māsa lit. "reef land") is an island in the eastern portion of Garetolia. It is the most outlying island, with a population of 54. A reef surrounds the island, which makes getting to and from the island difficult. The only vehicles that travel to the island are private boats and seaplanes. The island is only 0.074 km (0.04 mi) wide.

According to oral tradition, the native islanders believe they were sent to island by God. However, it is deemed by historians that the island was populated by Polynesians, who are believed to have come from Tahiti or the Cook Islands ≈2,500 years ago.
